Total Paid Out: $6,074.00

Wrap Up

Ft. Shafter

It's always a "heart warming story when family gets involved".   It was the members favorite format and it showed with a great turnout.  In totals we had 79 entries, paid 16 places with handicaps ranging  from -4 to 57; paid out $6,074.00 and $1,412.00 for 1st Place.  Our eventual Champion had not cashed higher than 12th place nor won a tournament since 2012.

The first squad started with posting the best score of 794 that put him right at the top of the leader board followed by member Kevin Asato at 767 and Naomi Rose 766.  Chaz bowled well with the fourth game left to score higher but lost his line and could not recover.

Chaz Castro wanted to bowl in the second squad and did not want to bowl by himself.  As it turns out, Chaz and Chris Ramones are brothers and Chris did not want to bowl but brother Chaz says "bowl this squad and I'll pay your entry".  It was an investment that both brothers will have fond memories about.  Apparently, it gave Chris an incentive to bowl as he tore up the lanes firing a high 881 score to take over the leader board from brother Chaz. Following Chaz was Audrey Sue with a nice 774 score and Vergilio Repollo close behind at 768.

The third squad saw Randy Kaea-Cook firing on all cylinders to start the final squad, changed lanes and "all cylinders misfired".  Randy ended in 3rd place with a great series of 788.  Daniel Toyooka-Lim bowled well and finished in 4th place with a 775 score, one better than Audrey Sue, who finished in 5th.

It was another demanding pattern however Chris was able to overcome that and posted the only 800 score.  Congratulations Christopher!  Chris thanks his wife and brother Chaz for their support and generosity as it motivated him to bowl really well.  This is Chris's 2nd title, waiting nearly eight years to win his red shirt.  Also, as it turned out, both brothers placed one and two.  Chris used a Roto Grip UFO bowling ball drilled by Keith Odette at WLE Pro Shop for his win.

On tap next is our Quarterly Tournament at Schofield Bowling Center.  That means the champion will also win a Storm Bowling Ball of choice.  Please do not forget starting times at Schofield has changed to earlier times, so please check the schedule.   Be safe and have fun, see on the 28th of March.

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpot

Our 9 Tap Jackpot has grown to $2,821.00 and our Progre$$ive Pot  stands at $1,362.00.   Our 9 Tap Jackpot bonus bucks winner, rolling 5 no taps, picked up a cool $150.00.  Bring a friend or family member and sign them up to bowl on your tour.
