Wrap Up

UH & 9 Tap Wins!!!

It was such an exciting tournament in which we had to compete with our winning University of Hawaii football team.  Turns out we ended with 72 entries; 14+ places; cashers handicaps ranging from -9 to 63; paid out $5,034.00; and crowned another new Champion.  Our new Champion was referred to bowl in the 9 Tap Tour by Tour Member Tonja Jenkins, signs up and wins the whole "shebang".  Which means that our Progressive Pot will see a"BIG INCREASE"!  Not to mention that the first and second place winners could only play the $10 Progressive Pot.  This is what it boils down to, our Progressive Pot will be at $1,707.00 and equates to 1st Place wins $853.00 + Prize Money at the same amount of entries (72 = $718.00), you can do the rest of the math.  Of course, as the entries grow so will the Prize Money and 1st place total win, also the earnings for 2nd and 3rd place will increase.  Is it worth coming out to our next Tournament  to be held at Schofield?  You go figure!

New Champion Crowned . . .

As the Ft. Shafter tournament got underway, we figured that our entry numbers would be down because of the UH football game at Aloha Stadium but we were pleasantly surprised as our first squad had 24 entries.  The squad got underway and taking over the leader board was Sid Remigio (965) followed closely by Audrey Sue (932) and Don Furuya (925).  Kesha Witherow took command of the 2nd squad posting a nice 1025 score and pushing Sid back to 2nd place and Lucianne Ledferd (938) to 3rd.

Tonja Jenkins invited and referred Glenn Shealy to join and bowl the 9 Tap Tour on Saturday at Ft. Shafter.  Glenn checked in and bowled the 1st squad, didn't bowl as well, left the Ft. Shafter and headed home.  Well, Mrs. Shealy asked him if there was any chance of him winning any money and Glenn says "Yes"!  She gives him some money, sends him back to Ft. Shafter to bowl the 5 o'clock squad.  He enters the final squad of the day and proceeds to deliver a knockout punch, shoots 1090, beats Kesha Witherow and wins his first Title.

Glenn used a Brunswick Cutting Edge bowling ball drilled at Schofield Bowling Pro Shop.  He thanks his wife for sending him back to bowl another squad and son Kaleb.  Congratulations!  Glenn.

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots

The 9 Tap Jackpot has increased to $5,198.00 and the Progressive Pot at a Huge $1,707.00.  Winners posting 4 no taps were Jody Loo and Don Furuya.  There is time to take advantage of the membership  discount, so bring your friends and Ohana to join the 9 Tap Tour.
