Ft. Shafter Lanes . . . 

We start off this week paying tribute and congratulating one of our tour members Dennis August, who was inducted into the Oahu USBC Hall of Famelast Saturday night!  Dennis's contribution(s) to bowling speaks for itself; Coaching (youths and adults) and at the High School level as Mililani HS Head Coach; held every league officer position numerous times; he still bowls in different leagues where he continues to average into the 200's, displaying his knowledge and professionalism of the Sport of Bowling.  Congratulation Dennis! 

In Celebrating our 9th Year of the 9 Tap Tour HI Region, Ft. Shafter's DJ Ryan Kumai celebrated winning his first Title.  Ft. Shafter yielded some nice scores as they were really bunched together.  There were 82 entries; cash list went from -1 to 68; low to cash was 722; paid 16 places; total paid out $6,245.00; 1st place was worth $1,464.00; crowned a first time Champion; and held drawings during each squad giving away bowling balls, a two bag tote, bowling ball cups, cleaners, grip sacks, "red" makana envelopes, red line special and an anchor award. “We simply had a great tournament and fun time”.    Mahalo to our sponsors Storm, Inc. and Hawaii Bowling Supply, who made it possible for the Tour to give our Members these prizes. 

Tournament Play 

The pattern seemed to be real tough as our first squad started their 10 minute shadow and tournament play.  James Tutewohl and Serjio Proctor started things off, leading the way posting an early 783 score and it sure looked like scores were going to be on the low side.  The 2nd squad saw the scoring get a bit higher as Chanel Nelias set the tone and the leader board posting a nice 820 score followed closely by James Tutewohl and Serjio Proctor.  As the 3rd squad started, our DJ Ryan Kumai hit a zone and takes the tournament win slipping past Chanel by 26 pins, posting a great 846 score.  Although there were some high scores made in the 3rd squad, no one could get in the mix to put up a challenge to Ryan.  DJ Ryan used his Storm Phaze II drilled by Danny Maglangit of Strike'em Pro Shop for his 1st Title.  He thanks the 9 Tap Tour for putting on these events as well as permitting him to bowl.  Congratulations, Ryan! 

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots 

Our Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots are at a sizeable payout for the next winner, as the Tour heads to Schofield.  The Progressive Pot increased a little and stands at $1,322.00.  The 9 Tap Jackpot is at $4,052.00.  Winner of the no tap consolation bonus for Ft. Shafter tournament went to Brandon Benicta with 4 no taps and he picked up $75.00 of bonus 9 Tap Jackpot monies.  See all of you at Schofield!! 

Schofield Bowling Center .  .  . 

Our next tournament is scheduled for Schofield Bowling Center.  Just a reminder that our squad times have been modified and we will start at 11:00 am with the 2nd squad to start at 1:30 pm, followed by our 3rd squad at 4:00 pm.

Team Event for August 

The 9 Tap Tour Team Event is scheduled for August 18, 2018 at Schofield Bowling Center.  We will have a different format that we feel will add some fun and excitement to the event.  It is scheduled to be a "PRE-PAID" event so we may know what the pay outs will be.  Sign up early with your Team Members.
