Ft. Shafter

Dec. 2nd, 2017

Total Paid Out: $5,385.00

Wrap Up

Ft. Shafter Lanes . . .

The Bowler of the Year went down to the wire; a fight to the finish.  Realistically, there were four (4) members with a chance to win the title of Bowler of the Year.  It was also the4th Quarter tournament and a Storm ball of choice to the Champion.  Ft. Shafter yielded some nice scores as they were really bunched together.  The cash list went from -2 to 50; low to cash was 936; paid 15 places; total paid out $5,385.00; 1st place was worth $1,231.00; and crowned a third time Champion, “We simply had a great tournament and fun time”.

Tournament Play

The pattern seemed to be real tough as our first squad started their 10 minute shadow and tournament play.  K-Bay Champion Samuel Ho started things off, making it look easy and led the way posting an early 1000 score and it sure looked like scores were going to be on the high side.  The 2nd squad saw the scoring get a little bit higher as John Hata made his move up the leader board posting a nice 1048 score and the second squad lead followed closely by Sam Ho with a 1000.  As the 3rd squad started, the Bowler of the Year started to take shape as the leader going into the final tournament was Champion Rashidi Domville.  Hot on his heels were Mike Yutaka, Mike Naehu and Claudia Ferrari.  Mike Yutaka made a valiant attempt at catching John Hata but fell way short.  The Storm Bowler of the Year went to Mike Yutaka as he slipped past Rashidi with his 2nd place finish. John was not turning WHITE because he saw an apparition, nope, John won his 3rd title and a WHITE shirt.  John left after the 2nd squad but called the 9 Tap Staff to ask whether he had to return to Ft. Shafter.  John used a Storm Timeless drilled by Roy Yamanuha at Game On Pro Shop. He thanks the 9 Tap Tour Staff and the whole Ohana.  Congratulations, John!

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots

Cristian Begazo created some excitement after a string of 5 no taps but just missed number 6 and a chance at $1,998.00.  For his efforts though, Cristian did win $150.00 bonus.   Our Progressive Pot did see a sizeable increase to the pay outs for our next tournament in January of 2018.  The 9 Tap Jackpot increased just a little to give someone a chance at winning at least $2,000.00 in January.  The Progressive Pot stands at $1,302.00.  The 9 Tap Jackpot is at $2,594.00 Up next is the Invitational Dexter Year End Championship.

Our Final tournament of the year was a major success and we thank our members for their unending support.  In appreciation for that constant support.
