Ft. Shafter Bowl

July 15th, 2017

Total Paid Out: $5,853.00

Wrap Up

85 entries on the Day

Despite the "Venue Change", the 9 Tap Tour celebrated another “AWESOME” fun filled tournament at Ft. Shafter Lanes.  This past weekend’s tournament attracted85 entries; with 17 cashers; paying out $5,583.00 and produced another 1sttime champion.  It could not have been as successful without the ongoing support of our sponsors Storm, Inc., Hawaii Bowling Supply, Dexter Shoes, The Embroidery Gift Shop and Schofield Bowling Pro Shop.

Ft. Shafter scores are usually low but close scoring.  Our scores held true as the scores were really close.  It was also the mid and high handicappers that ruled the day.  The scores were moderate but bunched together;  3 pins separating 1st and 2nd place;  scoring yielded 5 1000 scores shot;  17 places paid with 955 low to cash;   the cash list went from handicaps -2 to 55; and a first time Champion, “We simply had a great tournament and fun time”.

Mike wins his First Title

Mike Dudley began the day getting his friends to Ft. Shafter bowling centerfor a day out and bowling in the 9 Tap Tournament.  He got 4 of his buddies to join in on the 9 Tap Tour and eventually they had a great time.  Our tour had a great day as we had 9 new bowlers become members.

Paul Ledesma started the tournament with a nice score to beat at 1031, followed closely by Cora Naki-Souza (1023) and Kevin Enomoto (1000). Mike Dudley didn't waste any time, got on lanes 1 & 2 and bowled his heart out to a tune of 1034 and a 3 pin lead.  Mike Witherow entered the last squad and started with a small bump (218), then put two nice scores (295, 269) together but could not finish the deal posting a 244 (1026) and a third place finish.  Mike used a Tyrant drilled by Wes Flores of Schofield Bowling Pro Shop.  Mike says he has no plans for his winnings.  Congratulations, Mike!  Awesome Bowling!!

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots

Our Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots have increased and should give a sizeable payout to the next tournament winner, as the Tour heads toHickam.  The Progressive Pot stands at $1,486.00 and our 9 Tap Jackpot is at $6,172.00.  There were 3 no tap winners at Ft. Shafter, William Malina, Claudia Ferrari and Robert Gonzales with 4 no taps and shared the no tap bonus. See all of you there!!
