Two-Time  Champion . . . 

Rolena Furtak was soooo disappointed in Las Vegas as she competed in the "Three Regional Tournament".  She qualified for the finals on the last and final qualifying round but then "bombed out" in the finals.  It was a great learning experience for her as she felt the pressure of competing in these types of tournaments. 

Another successful 9 Tap tournament concluded at Schofield Bowling Center this past weekend where we crowned another past  Champion.  The scoring was just perfect as scores were on the level where all could compete and it was anyone's to win. On a day where we had a storm going through the Islands, we had a nice turnout of 54 entries; paid 11 places; cashers averages went from a -1 to 67; low to cash was 721; paid out $4,191.00; and paid to 1st place $1,057.00.  We saw a few BIG games Saturday, but those few bowlers were not able to string those big games together. 

Naomi Rose, our star performer at the Las Vegas Regional's, started things off with a nice score of 775 strong enough to lead the 1st and 2nd squads.  The third squad started rather slowly as scores were low but as the second game started,Rolena took charge.  There was no pressure in her game as she fired an 821 after her first three games.  Ricky Laguana shot a final 297 game to move into second place at 795 and Bernardo Domingo finished at 785 to take third place.  Naomi's 775 held up in the top 4 as she finished in fourth place.  Rolena collected $1057.00 for her win and was so excited, she was walking the lanes thanking everyone.  Asked what she was going to do with her winnings, her answer “Shopping”.   Rolena used aStorm Code Black drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop.  Congratulations!  Rolena you earned your Red Championship Shirt! 

Progre$$ive & 9 Tap Jackpot: 

Sharing this weekends' 9 Tap Jackpot was Kawika Johnson and Grace Toguchi both with 3 no taps.  Kawika and Grace shared the bonus bucks of $50.  Nice going!!
