Schofield Bowl - April 2nd, 2016

Total Paid Out: $4,030.00

Wrap Up

Our Newest Champion . . .

"It took a 5 year hiatus and 2 children before Kelsi decided to return to the 9 Tap Tour".  Kelsi Imamura joined our tour back in 2010 with hubby Allen but took a short break to start her family. It is not easy trying to manage children and bowl but our new mom did that and was "Blessed".  Before her win, her best on tour was a 13th place finish.

Coincidence???

Jenna Thompson, Champion Puget Sound;Alena Adrianse, Champion Las Vegas; Kelsi Imamura, Champion Hawaii;  Wow!  What  a coincidence that it was an "ALL WOMEN CAST".   Another successful 9 Tap tournament concluded at Schofield Bowling Center this past weekend where we crowned a new Champion.  The scoring was just at the level we like to see, where it took a 727 to cash and with only 3 bowlers topping 800.  We saw a few BIG games Saturday, but those few bowlers were not able to string those big games together.

Kevin Asato set the tone early as he posted a fine 806, followed closely by YEC Champion Lopaka Chun (777); the second squad Kelsi and Mike Naehu go neck and neck, Kelsi (815), Mike (805); the final squad was headed by Joe Odette (774) and Kevin Becera (727).  Dennis Ikaika went on a "Roller Coaster" ride finishing 4th place in the tournament.  The Tour’s newest Champion, Kelsi Imamura, posted two great games but the move after her two games was a little unsteady and just enough to edge out Kevin and Mike.   Kelsi collected $803.00 for her win despite putting $10 into the Progressive Pot.   Asked what she was going to do with her winnings, her answer “pay taxes and buy hubby a new bowling ball”.  She used a Roto Grip Hyper Cell Skid drilled by Keith Odette of WLE Pro Shop in Waipahu.  Cheering her on were her husband, Allen, and sons, Titan (2) and Raydn (2 months), Yah! Mommy!  Congratulations!  Kelsi Imamura!!

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots . . .

There was "Big Excitement" when Cheryl Kato strung 6 no tapstogether.  Will it be $2,500 or $200?  Ben Ballesteros was the first Hawaii 9 Tap Tour member and only one to string 7 no taps in a row and won $4,900.

Play by Play:

After stringing 6 no taps,  Cheryl steps up on  the approach, looks down the lane and not showing any signs of being nervous, delivers her ball on her target.  Yeah!  Looking good!!!  Auwe! the buggah short and Cheryl picks up $200 bonus for her front 6 no taps.  Congratulations, Cheryl!!

Our Progre$$ive Pot stands at $1080.00 and despite $200 bonus paid out the 9 Tap Jackpot increased a little to $3,162.00.  Next tournament at Ft. Shafter, April 16, 2016.
