Wrap Up

Back to Back Wins!

Vergilio has put himself in "Greater Company" joining  Ben Ballesteros, Daniel Toyooka-Lim and Ron Loo as the only 4 time Champions of 9 Tap bowling.  In fact, it had been 2 years since his last win and now has put together back to back wins at K-Bay (12-5-15 & 03-5-16).

The tournament was successful although the scoring at K-Bay was surprisingly low that everyone had a chance to win.  There were no 1000 scores shot and low to cash was 894.  The Tour's newest 4 Time Champion is Vergilio Repollo.  Jim Baumgartner set the tone for scoring early with a low 913 score to lead the first squad.  It was in Vergilio's karma that he was about to become a 4 time title holder, after all it was his Birthday.  Vergilio ended the second squad with a low 971 score and held on to win by a mere 13 pins.  Visiting from Alaska was Hank Olson and wife Cynthia, who scheduled their Hawaii vacation around the 9 Tap Tour, entered the third squad and started with two solid scores but then faltered in the last two games finishing with a 958 for second place.  Jason Fujimoto was on a mission, entered the third squad and started out with a bang.  Needing at least a 233 game or better, Jason slipped and could only muster a 208 game, losing by 24 pins and taking 3rd place.  Vergilio used a Storm IQ Tour ball, drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz at Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop.  Vergilio thanks his special fans of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop especially Ben Ballesteros for cheering him on and the 9 Tap Tour family.  Congratulations Vergilio on your fourth title.
