Hickam Bowl - August 20th, 2016

Total Paid Out: $3,992.00

Wrap Up

Hickam Bowling Center . . .

Our 9 Tap Tour tournament  returned to Hickam Bowling Centerfor another “Beat the Board” format and like always, the format provided our members with great excitement and close scoring.  We had a cash list that represented all the handicaps, from a -4 to73; the tour paid out $3,992.00, paying 12 places with $970.00 for 1st place.

Another successful 9 Tap tournament concluded at Hickam Bowling Center this past weekend, despite the worries we had of getting our members onto Hickam AFB.  The scoring was just at the level we like to see, where it took a 933 to cash and with only 3 bowlers topping a 1000.  We saw a few BIG games Saturday, but those few bowlers were not able to string those big games together.

"I can't thank Virgil Dela Cruz enough for his coaching and inspiration.  To my girl friend, Rolena, for believing in me".  I'm so stoked and extremely happy.  Those were the words of our now, 2 time Champion Ace Estiamba, back at K-Bay Lanes.  Ace has won back to back tournaments and the bragging rights between he and his BFF Rolena Furtak.  He also extends his gratitude to the 9 Tap Tour Staff for the support and coordination of a "Great Event".  Congratulations Ace on title number two and a red shirt!

Ace and Rolena entered the second squad of the Hickam tournament with  Ace wasting no time posting a first game of 254 only to slip a little and shoot a 179.  He then got back on board to finish in fine fashion ending with a score of 1016.  Rolena on the other hand bowled really steady games to cash in 4th place.  Sergio Villanueva finished the first squad as our leader again at 1009, with a first game glitch, a score of 173 but finished in great form.  But Ace did to Sergio like he did to Mike Asuncion and took the lead in the second squad posting a nice 1016 beating Sergio by 7 pins.  The pattern selected for the day is grueling and tough but Ace went to a urethane and got that to work for him.  Nelson Weyl made an attempt to unseat Ace and win his first title but fell short scoring a 1002 and 3rd place.

Our Progre$$ive Pot stands at $897.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot increased to $3,896.00. Glen Lim was our No Tap winner with 4 no taps receiving a bonus of $75.00.
