Ft. Shafter Bowl - October 29th, 2016

Total Paid Out: $6,035.00

Wrap Up

Ft. Shafter  "Best 3 out of 4" . . .

Our 9 Tap tournament returned to action at Ft. Shafter Lanes for the tour favorite format “Best 3 out of 4” and again provided our members with excitement and close scoring.   Ft. Shafter produced 83 entries; 17 cashers; paid out $6,035.00; and another 1st time Champion in Mike Naehu, earning Mike  $1,429.00 and a Tour Shirt.  It didn't come easy for Mike because there were many members still in the mix.  After the second squadMike led with a 810 and a narrow 32 pin lead over Reggie Caneda and a 34 pin lead over Randy Kaea-Cook. Randy and Reggie both  reentered the third squad and could not get any closer.  Jason Fujimoto put on a scoring spree to start the tourney firing a no tap 300 and a first squad lead of 769, short lived with Mike Naehu following.  Mike could not stay for the third squad because he was committed to the UH football game at Aloha Stadium.  Terrence Fukuda made a run at the title firing a no tap 300 in the last game of the 3rd squad but fell short, finishing with a 790 and second place.  Reggie Caneda came in 3rd place and Randy Kaea-Cook 4th place.  After quite a number of top finishes, Mike's perseverance paid off and wins his first title.  Mike says, "Thanks to Grace Toguchi for bringing so much energy and enthusiasm to bowling, that  I fed off of it".  He thanks Keith Odette of WLE (Waipahu Lawn and Equipment) for drilling his bowling equipment and his bowling buddies (Clint, Cheryl, Jason and Dennis) for their support and cheering.  Mike also says, "owning a ball spinner has improved his bowling considerably".

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpot . . .

Our pots have increased and will make the  Hickam tournament "Enticing".  The 9 Tap Jackpot has increased to $4,320.00 and the Progressive Pot to $1,295.00.  So, come out and join us at Hickam Bowling Center for our next tournament.  There was a 3 way tie for the 9 Tap Jackpot bonus, Norman Brewster, Natashi Johnson and Daniel Toyooka-Lim, shared in the $100 for 4 No taps.

The Year End Championship (YEC) is quickly approaching, so if you want to get invited, you got to stay active.  YEC is slated for December 17, 2016 at Schofield Bowling Center.  Alongside the YEC will be the 900 Global ball demo.  If you have any questions, please feel free to give me or Frances a call at 808 779-6566.  Hope to See You There!!!
