Ft. Shafter Bowl - April 16th, 2016

Total Paid Out: $3,116.00

Wrap Up

54 entries on the Day; Lawrence Ambush wins First Title

This past weekend’s tournament produced another 1st time Champion; BB Jr. gets Ambushed;  and  paid out $1,098.00 for 1st place.  Lawrence Ambush hit it big at Ft. Shafter winning his first Championship, earning his Blue Championship shirt and a paycheck of $1,098.00.  Lawrence's win wasn’t the only excitement of the day.   After Cheryl Kato posted 6 no taps at the Schofield tournament on April 2, 2016, Dennis Ikaika strung 5 no taps and narrowly missed number 6 with an 8 count, then threw a no tap in the 7th frame.  Wow!  That was close!  Dennis won $150 for his 5 no taps.

Two time Champion Glen Teramoto started the day with a nice 4 game set of 1013, followed by Brennan Doane at 983.   In the 2nd squad though, Ben Ballesteros (-5 handicap started things off slow then poured on a string of  XXX's and what looked like an unbeatable score of 1073, followed by Clint Kato (1015) and last tournament Champion Kelsi Imamura with a 1011.   As the 3rd squad began and after the first game, it seemed that BB Jr.'s score was invincible.  Meanwhile, under the radar, Lawrence Ambush trudging along nicely with a 3 game total of 808 and needing just a 230 + his handicap to give him the lead.  He goes out on the 4th game and shoots a huge score to literally "Ambush Ben Ballesteros by 29 pins".  Congratulations Lawrence on your win!   Lawrence used a Brunswick bowling ball drilled by Roy Yamanuha of Roy's Pro Shop for his 1st Title.  An Oceanic IT/Programmer, Lawrence is using his "Big Payday" to go out to Four Seasons Ko'olina to celebrate.  He thanks Roy for drilling his bowling ball and wife, Mari, for the support.  Congratulations!  Lawrence Ambush.

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots;

Our Progressive Pot has decreased a little to $896.00 and our 9 Tap Jackpot stands at $3,172.00.  The jackpots are still large and will pay any of our members “Big Bucks”!  Our next tournament will be held at Schofield Bowling Center celebrating our Anniversary, May 7, 2016 and it will be a "Beat the Board" format.  Bring a friend or a family member to check out the tour.  See You there.
