Exxxtreme 300 & Clint Kato wins!!! 

A Big Mahalo to Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop for their sponsorship of this weekend's 9 Tap Tournament at Schofield Bowling Center.  Virgil and Rowena Dela Cruz donated to our members bowling bags, towels and a Storm bowling ball.  Yes! the biggest"Shibai" story I heard in a long time, maybe just as long as Clint Kato had to wait for his second win. 

Championship decided by the "Fourth Game" 

The Schofield Tournament surprised us as scoring went into the "High Range".  Scores in our “Beat the Board” format was exciting all day.  The day started with Clement Virtudes firing a nice 1012 to lead the first squad.  Clem's score of 1012 led the second squad as well making it seem that 1012 would hold but . . .  

Just before the third squad started, I was in a conversation with Clint Kato and Braddahtells me, "Oh, Kawika, I goin' have surgery on my elbow and da docta might have to stretch or cut da tendon, so I goin' be out for awhile".  Here I am feeling sorry for him because I'm thinking he is bowling hurt.  Yeah! Right!  The only hurt he put on was the score he posted after the final squad ended.  Talk about a "SHIBAI" story.  Maybe he was trying to butter cup my feelings so his handicap won't go down.  Oh! Braddah, too late, cut, cut, cut!! ​(just kidding) 

The fireworks began in the third squad with Clint Kato posting a 278 first game followed closely by none other than Ben Ballesteros with a 9 Tap 300 close on his heels.  Clint faltered a little in the second game but Ben kept the pressure on by shooting another nice game to move within 9 pins of Clint.  Silently and Stalking the leaders was Vergilio Repollo close behind and waiting for a chance that the leaders might have a bad game or two.  Clint goes on to post another good game and Ben falls off.  After the dust cleared, Clint had distanced himself from the field, finishing off with a final and best score of 1140.  Vergilio edges out Clement Virtudes, Ben Ballesteros and Lawrence Ambush posting a 1026 for second place.  Clement's 1012 holds off Ben (1005) and Lawrence (1003) for third place. 

Congratulations Clint on finally winning your second title.  Clint would like to thank Nelson Weyl at Schofield Pro Shop for drilling his DV8 Thug bowling ball.  With his winnings, Clint says " I am saving it for Las Vegas".  Clint, go Thanksgiving week and you can bowl in the 9 Tap Tour Tournament there.  Travel Safe!  He also gives a Big Mahalo to the 9 Tap Tour HI Region and the whole gang for putting on these tournaments.  Mahalo, Braddah!!  and Congratulations! 

Our 9 Tap Jackpot increased to $2,150.00 and the Progressive Pot stands at  $958.00.  The pots are still large and waiting for one of our members to take home the“Bigger Bucks”.  Our next stop will be at Hickam Bowling Center on September 19, 2015 for our "Quarterly Tournament".  The Champion and 2nd Place finisher gets a bowling ball from 900 Global and AMF manufacturers.  Don't miss out on the latest bowling balls to come out of both manufacturers.
