Schofield Bowling Center 

Schofield usually brings a lot of close scoring and for this past tournament, it did not disappoint.  Back in March, Mike Asuncion outlasted Daniel Toyooka-Lim by 21 pins; April saw Kevin Enomoto beat out Kevin Asato by 11 pins; then in May Virgil Dela Cruz tripped Kevin Enomoto by just 9 pins.  This past weekend's tournament, Keanu Deboma slipped by Mario Talon by a mere 13 pins, denying Mario from becoming the eldest member to win a 9 Tap tournament.   The cash list ranged from -3 to 43; low to cash was 941; and a first time Champion, which is to say, “We simply had a great tournament”.  

Play by Play 

The day started with the 1st squad starting things as perennial champion, Ben Ballesteros, leading with a posted score of 991.  The 2nd squad saw the lead change hands with 80 year old Mario Talon shooting a nice 1022 score.  For a little while it looked as if Mario had a vice grip on the lead but that all ended when Keanu Deboma slipped by Mario with a 15 pin win in the last game of the last squad.  Keanu used a Storm IQ Tour Nano, drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop for his 1st Title.  He thanks the 9 Tap Tour for putting together another “Great Tournament” and "for giving people around the Island an opportunity to bowl and showcase their talents", and his family for being there.  Congratulations, Keanu!
