K-Bay Lanes - December 5th, 2015

Total Paid Out: $4,185.00

Wrap Up

Vergilio has put himself in "Great Company" joining  Ben Ballesteros, Daniel Toyooka-Lim, Darrell Salondaka, Emory Carrick and Ron Loo as the only 3 time winners of 9 Tap bowling.  In fact, it has been 2 years since his last win and he has been close in several tournaments before the K-Bay Tournament.

The tournament was successful as we had 60 entries, a Cash List of 13 with averages ranging from -5 to 50.  Scoring at K-Bay was just where we like it, not to high yet not so low.  Actually, there were four scores shot in the 1000 range and low to cash was 929.  The Tour's newest 3 Time Champion is Vergilio Repollo.   It has been over 2 years since Vergilio had won his second tournament but he persevered through those times of changes in balls and ball layouts, unconventional drilling and it paid off.  First time winner Glen Teramoto set the tone early with a nice 955 score to lead the first and second squad.  It looked so good for Glen to pick up his second victory making a back to back win but then the lanes broke down and yielded four 1000 scores.  Vergilio ended the third squad with an impressive 306 (290 + 16) and stole the win away from Wade Takamori.  What was impressive is that Vergilio used a Storm IQ 30 ball, drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz at Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop right out of the box for his third win.  He plans to use his $1,128.00 Winners share to “Pay bills!”  Vergilio thanks his special fans of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop for cheering him on and the 9 Tap Tour family.  Vergilio became the tours 4th quarter tournament winner and won himself the latest "Tour Ball" from 900 Global and AMF.  Second place finisher, Wade Takamori, also won a ball from 900 Global and AMF.  Congratulations Vergilio on your third title.

BOY Champion Crowned; Year End Championship

In a Very Close Race, Daniel Toyooka-Lim edged out Virgil Dela Cruz to win the "Bowler of the Year".  Just a reminder, Members, Our 3rd Annual “Year End Championship”, will be held December 19, 2015 atSchofield Bowling Center.  It is an Invitational Tournament and E-mail has been sent out to those members who have qualified to participate, please let me know whether you are bowling so I can give your slot to another member who qualifies.  Also, Shirts with the “9 Tap” logo and  name embroidered are expected for this tournament.  You can purchase one from Tour Sponsor Verna Rapez of “The Embroidery Gift Shop”, located at Stadium Mall or take your favorite collared shirt and have her embroider it.
