Hickam Bowl - September 19th, 2015

Total Paid Out: $4,044.00

Wrap Up

“FUN TIME”

The pattern for the day had members drooling and having fun bowling.  The last time 9 Tap Tour had this much fun was over a year ago at none other than Hickam where records fell and we had 100 entries; paid 20 places; $1,810.00 for 1st place and a 1st time Champion in Andrae Lara.

It took 2 years for Paul Salevski to win his second title and he did it in grand fashion.  In fresh oil and a clean backend it was lights out in the 1st Squad.  We had four (4) 1100 scores posted in the 1st squad and that set the bar high for other bowlers to catch.  Paul has been with the tour for 3 years and bowls at Hickam and he needed to be at his best because on his tail in the first squad was DTL (Daniel Toyooka-Lim), Mike Asuncion and Mike Signaigo.  Paul was Mr. Consistency and he had to be with DTL shooting back to back 300 games; Mike Asuncion bowled great but came up exactly 10 pins short;  HBS (Hawaii Bowling Supply), Mike Signaigo started slow but finished fast and he too, was just short.

Asked if he had any plans for his $1,120.00 winnings, he simply said “Vacation with the family on the Big Island”.  Paul used a Colombia 300 Enigma, drilled by Roy Yamanuha at Ft. Shafter Pro Shop.  He thanks his friend Steve Clouse for helping him out with the new equipment and to the 9 Tap Tour for the "Great and Fun Opportunities" in putting on these tournaments.  Congratulations Paul!

“7 in the middle” missed; Side Notes

Our Progre$$ive Pot stands at $993.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot at $2,269.00.  Mario Talon hit 10 No Taps in the Middle but "Auwe, da buggah no count".  Sorry Mario, pretty soon we will have the "7 in the Middle" no taps.  There were three members tied with 4 no taps in row and they were Emory Carrick, new member Reggie Caneda and Rodney Fujii.  They all shared in the 9 Tap Jackpot bonus consolation.

The 9 Tap Tour Year End Tournament is right around the corner and it is by"Invitation Only".  It doesn't take much to qualify for this tournament but to bowl.  Past Champions need to be active to get an automatic invitation.  Active means the Past Champion had to bowl at least once in the last 6 month period.  If you are unsure, call Kawika and he can tell you whether you are qualified or not.
