Schofield Bowl - November 22nd, 2014

Total Paid Out: $7,227.00

Wrap Up
97 entries on the Day; Johnson wins First Title

Returning to Schofield was filled with fun and laughter.   This past weekend’s tournament produced 97 entries, 19 cashers, paid out $7,227.00 and a 1st time champion.

Kawika Johnson hit it big at Schofield winning his first Championship, earning his Blue Championship shirt and a paycheck of $1,599.00.  Kawika’s win wasn’t the only excitement; Vergilio Repollo strung 6 no tap strikes, well on his way to collect $5,400.00, only to leave a huge split in the 7th frame.  Vergilio did take the consolation bonus of $500 for his efforts home with him.    In the 1st squad,Vergilio started things off posting a very nice 796 score.  The 2nd squad, Kawika Johnson started really slow but when he changed lanes, it was like a light switch went on and Kawika finished with 2 big scores to shoot the only 800 series of the day.  In the 3rd squad,Ben Dela Cruz was a thing of consistentcy  but could only muster a series of 799 followed by the 1st squad leader, Vergilio with a 796. Congratulations Kawika on your win!  Kawika used a Brunswick Ball, drilled by Mike at Coast to Coast Pro Shop in Las Vegas for his 1st Title.  Cheering for Kawika was Al and Janet Melchor; Bryan and Bryce Akagi, John Lavery and Lisa Keliikoa.

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots; YEC Dec 20th;

Our Progressive Pot has increased to $1,486.00 and our 9 Tap Jackpotdecreased a little because of Vergilio’s 6 no taps worth $500.00 but still high at$6,670.00.  The jackpots are still large and will give any of our members “Big Bucks”!

The Year End Championship (YEC) is scheduled for December 20th at Schofield.  This is an invitational tournament and will be opened to 80 active members only.  Current and Active Past Champions will automatically get an invite.  After all the champions have responded, it will then be opened to other members using the Bowler of the Year list, starting from the top.

The last tournament of the season is a Quarterly Tournament and will be held onDecember 6th at K-Bay Lanes.  The tournament Champion will get an automatic invitation to the YEC.  We will have some great Prizes for this tournament so make sure that your calendar is free.  We will be giving away 6 one (1) hour bowling lessons; an entry into Bowling Revolutions Clinic, a $160 cost; as well as a bowling ball for the winner.  See all of you there!!
