Old Phantom Still a Hit!!!  

The “Average Bowlers” dominated this weekend’s tournament, as 12 of the 15 cashers were in “Double Digit Handicaps”.  There were three bowlers who made a run at our 9 Tap Jackpot, Ron Loo, Vergilio Repollo and new member David Hudgins.  All three bowlers had the front 4-Taps and shared the winnings of $150.00.  Scores were high and bunched tightly, with the Cut-Line much higher than what we would like to see.  There was some added “Fun” this past tourney, as Tour Sponsor, Hawaii Bowling Supply (HBS), supplied our tournament with a bowling ball for the tournament champion and balls, to go along with gift certificates and free entries for raffling. 

Pamela Antolin had set the bar so high in the first squad that there were no threats until, of course, the last game of the 3rd squad.  To beat her score, our eventual champion, Dave Salis had to be perfect, he was and shot 1120.    Dave comments,“had a nice line, just had to put it there with some UMPF!  Also, Thanks to Kawika and the 9 Tap Tour Staff for a professionally ran tournament, it was a Pleasure and lots of Fun to participate”.  Also, thanks to my “Lucky Charm”, Mom and wife, Rynda for all the support from home.”  Congratulations Dave on Win #1!  Dave used an OLD, very OLD, 25yr. old Brunswick Phantom.  It’s so OLD he doesn’t remember who drilled it.  A happy Pamela Antolin shot 1093 for 2nd Place andDon Furuya’s 1074 was good for 3rd place. 

On a side note:  The Hawaii Region Tour is so PROUD of our Sistah #H-1 Pearl Sedeno.  Pearly won her 2nd title in the Puget Sound Region to go with her 2 titles in the Hawaii Region and now has 4 Titles, career earnings of nearly $10,000 and a Gold Shirt.  Congrats Pearl!  Oddly enough, that makes two Hawaii Transplants to win Back to Back titles.  Cecil Abay Abay, won Puget Sounds tourney last week, makes semi annual trips home to see family and bowls in the Hawaii Region Tournaments.  Oh Yea!  HA-WHY-ANS!
