Another Milestone Weekend

The 9 Tap Tour experienced another record breaking milestone weekend, this time at Schofield, with 114 entries and a record total payout of $8,365.00.  The scoring was again within an ideal target range, with scores on the Cash List from a full range of averages, -18 to 47, with most of the cashers at mid range handicaps.  The 9 Tap Jackpot was not in jeopardy at all.

Ben Agoo and Miguel Baysa (pictured) were the only members to put together 3 No Taps for the day and each got $100 for their efforts.

First Time Winner

The Tour's newest 1st Time Champion is Scott Buss, whose highest finish on Tour was 6th Place at, none other than, Schofield Bowling Center.  Bowling in the 1st squad, Scott started out slow but moved a pair of lanes and shot game of 274 and 293 to post a score of 825 and the lead position.  There were no threats to Scott’s lead until the last squad, where Emory Carrick, looking for his second title, shot a 280, the first of two games, threw out a low score of 226, moved lanes, continued with a 258 and a split and a missed spare in his final game of 264 put him in 2nd place with a score of 802.  Emory beat out new member, Shelly Castillano (score 801) by one pin.  Scott became the 1st member of the Hawaii Regions Tour to win $2,290.00.  Emory Carrick won $1,018.00 for his 2nd place finish.  For her 3rd place finish, Shelly won $381.00.  Scott used his Hammer First Blood and Absolute Curve, drilled by Tour member and Sponsor Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop.  CONGRATS Scott on your first win!

9 Tap Jackpot is Increasing

Our 9 Tap Jackpot is steadily increasing and waiting for one of our members to breakout and throw 7 no taps in a row and claim the huge 80% pot.  Ray Allen threw 7 in the middle to win $1000.00 @ Ft. Shafter, so it can be done.  Earl Kleist of Puget Sound rolled 7 no taps from the 1st frame and won $7,730.00, then two weeks later Greg Roberts of Puget Sound hit 7 no taps for $2,466.00.  It can be done Hawaii!  The 9 Tap Jackpot is $7,712.00 and the Progre$$ive Pot is at $2,097.00.

Art Maglangit:  New Role on Tour

Art Maglangit is leaving the 9 Tap Tour HI Region as Tour Partner.  His leaving was met with mixed emotions of Surprise and Sadness but also Happiness for the relief it offers him, from health and personal issues.  Under his Leadership, the Tour has grown and prospered.  Frances and I, along with the whole Tour Staff will miss him GREATLY.  As a result, Art has turned over his partnership to Frances and I.  The “GOOD NEWS” is he will be supporting the Tour as a participating member and as our “Tour Advisor”.
