Ft. Shafter . . . 

Our 9 Tap Tour tournament is back at Ft. Shafter Lanes, July 6, 2013, with just as much excitement and closer scoring.   A very nice turnout at Schofield produced a good Cash List and a whole lot of excitement.  There were 89 entries at the end of the day, paying 18 places with low to cash at 907 and some exciting moments.  

Scoring at Schofield was anyone’s tournament as there were just 3 scores over a 1000 shot all day.  Clay Saguibo started the scoring with a great score of 1036 in the 1st squad and that lead nearly held to the end.   Ben Ballesteros made a great attempt for a “Yellow” colored shirt, given to a 4 time champion, but came up just short, shooting a 1023.  

Our eventual Champion, Ron Loo, went to the very end to capture the victory and pull the rug from under Clay.  Heading into the final game, Ron started with a pair of misses but then put together a line of strikes.  Going into the final frame, if Ron would throw the first strike, he wins going away.  Ron throws a short pocket leaving a bucket 6 count, spare he stays alive and a chance to win Championship Shirt number 2.  He spares and now needs a no tap or natural strike to win by two.  On the eleventh frame, he barely gets the ball back to the pocket but a good mix of pins on deck, carries all ten pins for a strike and wins by 2 pins with a 1038.  That was an exciting finish!  Congratulations, Ron, on your 2nd Tour Title!  Ron thanks Paulette and the 9 Tap Tour for supporting him and putting on the tournament.  He used a Radical ReAx and had it drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop.   

Traveling to Seattle . . . 

Fran and Kawika are traveling to the Great Northwest to meet with corporate for new programs to make checking in more efficient and printing of checks instead of handwriting them.  Bowl in their tournaments and tour the Indian Reservations, should be a fun, entertaining and enter-prize-ing.

The Progressive Pot is at $1,418.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot is$7,196.00.  Ben Ballesteros was your No Tap winner as he put together 4 No Taps and won $150.  Kevin Asato and Ken Reynolds put together 6 No Taps in the middle but "auwe" had mis-_hit number 7.  Ft. Shafter Lanes has been very giving in the form of “No Taps”;  Ray Allen did the “middle 7” for $1,000; several members had 5 No Taps good for $300, so don’t miss your chance to win those “Bonus Bucks”.
