Wrap Up

“SPECTACULAR Weekend at Pali”

Records fell at Pali Lanes this past weekend and it was “No Surprise to the Staff”.  Here is a breakdown of records broken: our first squad record was 38 entries, this weekend 42, “SMASHING”; record totals for squads 1 & 2 were 72 entries, this weekend 80, “DOUBLE SMASHING”; and the highest number of entries  were 119, we were short by 1 as the tour rounded off the day with 118 entries.  The Tour paid 24 places,  $1,605.00 for 1st place, withour 1st time Champion paying $10 in the PROGRE$$IVE POT and demolished the TOTAL PAYOUT of $6,452.00 to $7,666.00.  Where does that leave the Progre$$ive Pot?  “H U G E”!

Big Scores at Pali

Pali Lanes “Hy-Bred Scoring” lane condition and pattern for this weekend’s tournament was sweet for many bowlers.    Scoring was so prevalent, that we had 11 - 300 games, one of which was a “Natural 300” by Ray Allen.  Clayton Saguibo was the owner of three 300’s, putting them all together in the 2:30 pm squad.  In fact the lanes were so soft that the tournament set a record number of 1000’s shot in one day.  Once again scoring was within an ideal target range, with  scores on the Cash List coming from a full range of averages, -8 to 43, with most of the cashers at mid range handicaps, ranging from 13 to 43 (16 out of 24).  The Duo of Iha and Solano had 4 no taps until the last squad when last Tournament winnerPaul Salevski put together 5 no taps, to capture the 9-Tap Jackpot Bonusfor this week, a $300 payday.

First Time Champion Crowned

The Tour's newest 1st Time Champion is New Member Vanessa Couch-Laguana, who joined our tour this past weekend at the urging of her hubby and member, Ricky Laguana.  Ricky told me, “Kawika, Vanessa hasn’t bowled for 10 months following her pregnancy and subsequent birth”.  Well!  The layoff proved to be a “BLESSING in DISGUISE”, because from the opening frame, she unleashed her fury on the pins and shot an opening score of 300 and never looked back.  Vanessa established a lead score of 1181 in the 1st squad to top Jeff Barefoot’s 1131 by 50 pins and Wade Robinson’s 1093 and that made everyone feel she was “Unreachable”.  However, Glenn Egdamin and Clay Saguibo didn’t get that e-mail.  In the 2nd squad, Glenn, our Tours’ Inaugural Champion started like gang busters with a 278 and finished with a flurry of strikes, a 300 and 1161 finishing 20 pins short.  Clay shot back to back 300s, moved lanes, faltered in game 3, and polished off another 300, only to fall a little short.  Vanessa thanks her husband, Ricky, for his influence to join the tour and by keeping her calm throughout the day.  Asked if she had any plans for her$1,605.00 winnings, she simply said “Spend It”.  Vanessa used a Brunswick C – System ball, drilled by Dan Maglangit of Strike’em Pro Shop.  Congratulations Vanessa!

Whopping High Progressive Pot

Back to our Jackpots!  July 6, 2013, Paul Salevski wins title number #1, “but Braddah Neva play the Progre$$ive Pot”.  Progressive pot stood at $2,194.00 for the next tournament.  Next Tournament:  New Member Vanessa Couch-Laguana wins the July 20, 2013 tourney for win #1, but because she is a new member and could only play the $10 Progressive pot, the Pot grows larger and now stands at a “Whopping $2,539.00”.  So, ourProgre$$ive Pot is at $2,539.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot at $7,502.00

Help Us Out at Check In

This past weekends Pali Lanes tournament brought 118 entries and we expect about the same number of entries for our Schofield tournament.  If you plan to bowl the Schofield tournament,“Please check in at least 45 minutes early so we can get started on time and finish on time to start the next squad.”  The pots are “H U G E” and a new member won last tournament, so invite your friends and Ohana to join your Tour and a chance at winning the “BIG BUCKS”.
