Record High Progressive Pot

First Time Winner Paul Salevski

The Story line:  Paul Salevski slips by Daniel Toyooka-Lim by a narrow margin of 19 pins to win his first title BUT “Braddah neva play da PROGRE$$IVE POT!!!!  The Progre$$ive Pot now stands at (drum roll please . . . . .) $2,194.00.  Absolutely the HIGHEST its’ ever been on the Hawaii Tour, which then equates to the Pali Tournament winner receiving $1,097.00 from the Progre$$ive Pot, plus the Tour Prize Monies (tour pays 1 in 5) and the winner may be the 9 Tap Tour Hawaii RegionsFIRST $2,000.00 Champion!  Our 9 Tap Jackpot is still HUGE and stands at $7,376.00.  Don’t Miss Out on Your Chance to Win BIG!

The “Average Bowlers” dominated this weekend’s tournament, as the Hawaii Region recorded a New Record Squad Turnout of 45 entries.   The BIGturnout caused records to fall as the Tour paid out$5,621.00, to record another large total payout to date.  For the month of June the Tour has recorded huge turnout numbers (175 entries) and big payouts (over $12,000).  Surprisingly, there was only one bowler who made a run at our 9 Tap Jackpot, Daniel Toyooka-Lim, who had the front 4-Taps and took home $150.00.  The scores were bunched tightly, with the high score as predicted and the Cut-Line normal.

The 9 Tap Tournament started with a couple of scores at 1000.  Eric Abarca and Chaz Castro went out early and posted scores of 1005 and 1004 respectively, setting the tone for the afternoon.  In the second squad, DT-L (Dan Toyo(attack)Lim) was at it again, firing a nice but beatable 1013 score.  Daniel has been on a tear this year and bowling great.  But today would not be his best.  Paul Sur had a super chance to win his first title but a last game of 209 was his demise, ending in a 6th place finish at an even 1000.  On the side was Paul Salevski’s final game of 254 that allowed him to pass Daniel by 19 pins at 1032.  Paul is with the military stationed on Oahu, joined our tour in May after being transferred from Monterey California. Paul used an Ebonite Diamondback for his first Title and had it drilled in Monterey by Ken Burns of Monterey Lanes.  After seeing his posted score of 1032 as the Top Score, Paul said, “I was amazed that I had won.  Great tournament – I love bowling and thanks 9 Tap Tour Staff for hosting and setting it all up”. Congratulations Paul on Win #1.   Asked what he is going to do with his winnings.  He said “help pay for our move to Hawaii”.

Dress Code

Just a reminder that the 9 Tap Tour has a Dress Code and we do appreciate the members that have gone out and either bought a new shirt or used a favorite one and had them embroidered.  Again, cut-offs or jeans with holes or sweat pants are NOT allowed.  All shirts must have a collar or mock collar.  No headwear is allowed except for medical or religious reasons.  Advertising (other than Tour Sponsors) on clothing is not allowed.  Small logos such as USBC or small shirt maker’s logo are acceptable.  First and last names must be on the back of your 9-Tap Tour shirt and must be readable.  Our logo must be embroidered or permanently affixed to your shirt on the sleeve or pocket height on chest.  If your apparel is not acceptable, you will be asked to either change or not bowl.

Discounted Membership

For our members who are thinking of bringing their Ohana to join the Tour, the 9 Tap Tour isDISCOUNTING its membership to $15.00, a savings of 40%.  Now would be the best time to join and give yourself a chance to win lots of money.
