Nice Turnout at Schofield

A very nice turnout at Schofield produced a good Cash List and a whole lot of excitement.  Scoring was tough going for our members, so tough that there was only one 800 series bowled, an 805, and several bowlers with a shot to beat the score.  That made for some exciting moments, only to be derailed by an errant shot or two.  Schofield delivered a BIG payday from the 9-Tap Jackpot,when Vergilio Repollo came through in the 2nd squad, stringing 6-Taps.  In the seventh frame, Vergilio commented “my legs were shaking when I got on the approach”.  His seventh frame shot was amid a lot of OOOHS and AAAHSwhen the bowling ball hit the perfect pocket and a STRIKE!!  Auwe! Vergilio missed hitting the 9 Tap Jackpot and $4,180.00.  Instead, he won the consolation bonus of $250.

Solomon Chung Jr. posted the early lead, a 791, and it seems he has been in the driver’s seat and in this position so many times, so close yet so far.  Sidney Remigio entered the second squadknowing the score to beat.  Focused on the mission at hand, got on the lanes and bowled a commendable score of 805.  In the last squad, several bowlers had Sid in their sights but an errant shot here and there until the final 2 bowlers, Kevin Asato and Camryn Bonifacio, threw splits in their final game that Sid could rest easy and collect his first Championship Title and Shirt.  Solomon Chung Jr. took 2nd and Kevin Asato 3rd place for a fine payday.  Sidney’s payday was a very nice $1,474.00.  Asked what he was going to use his paycheck on, he said “no plans to use it yet”.
