Leeward Bowl - April 7th, 2012
Total Paid Out: $6,452.00
Tournament Wrap Up
Records Fall in the Striking Dynamics Leeward Bowl Tounament What a “Huge Weekend”, where record after record were broken and set. Here is a breakdown of records broken. On an average, our first squad would get between 20 and 25 entries, we had 38; totals for squads 1 & 2 would be about 44 entries, we had 72; and the third squad would bring 32 to 36 entries, we had 47; the highest number of entries (at the doubles tournament) was 100 entries, we had 119 on Saturday. The number of new memberships, 23, was exceeded only by our inaugural tournament, the start of the 9 Tap Tour Hawaii with 26. The Tour paid 24 places, paid $1,541 for 1st place, total payout of $6,452 and this is only the beginning because more bowlers are inquiring and asking how one joins the 9 Tap Tour, when and where is the next tournament. We had bowlers coming back to bowl the tour after a lengthy layoff, Trenton, Alan, Jason, Ashley and Lonnie, Welcome Back! The cash list was spread out nicely with all handicaps well represented. Surprisingly, there was only one bowler who made a run at our 9 Tap Jackpot, Bernie Cabatu, a new member, had the front 4-Taps and took home $100.00. There was a bit of excitement when Bob Swartz threw the front 8 natural strikes, leave a rip 10 pin in the ninth frame and finished off the 10th, 11th and 12th frames with natural strikes. The Tour presented Bob with a300 No Tap Patch from USBC. There was more added “Fun” this past tourney, as Tournament Sponsor, Striking Dynamics raffled off three (3) high performance balls and the best part was, you didn’t have to be present to Win. Our New Champion is Ronald Loo of Makakilo, bowling in the second squad, bowled consistently and set the bar at a high 1139. He was so stoked about his score that he had a grin from ear to ear, re-entered the third squad to see if he could break the 9 Tap Jackpot. “Thanks for not taking all the money, Ron, and leave some for the other members”. Congratulations Ron on Win #1! Ron comments, “thanks to the 9 Tap Tour for having these tournaments and allowing me to enter. Mahalo to the 9 Tap Tour Staff, Directors, Art and Kawika, and to all the sponsors who help make this a very fun and professionally ran tournament". Thanks, Ron, for the vote of confidence. He used a Storm “Nano Pearl”, drilled by AMPRO Bowling Shop, for his win. Asked if there were any special plans for the $1,541.00 won, he replied, “No”. A happy Terrence Fukuda, shot 1082 for 2nd Place and $741 for his efforts. Christopher Ramones took home $373 for third place with a score of 1030. Message from the CEO CONGRATULATIONS Hawaii Tour, from Rob & Margie!!! WOW! Two Tournaments with 100 or more entries in the last month... pretty exciting seeing that kind of Record Breaking growth for the Hawaii Tour. CONGRATS to Ronald Loo for winning the Hawaii's biggest Tourney to date. The Hawaii 9-Tap Tour is obviously in GREAT hands with Kawika, Art and the whole crew! THANKS for the Ohana from all the Members we met at Hickam & Schofield during our visit. Good Luck & Good Bowling to all, Rob & Margie |
