A Great Turnout at Hickam provided some exciting finishes and anxieties. This weeks' Champion was Honolulu's Finest (HPD) Ben Ballesteros (ret).  It has been a long drought for Ben since winning his first title back in October of 2010.  Bowling with partner and sponsor of our tour, Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300, Ben said "I just kept up with Virgil but I still needed to shoot a big score”.  Shoot a big score he did, Ben shot a 300 and nosed out Virgil by 20 pins.  In the second squad, newcomer Don Furuya caused Ben to have some anxieties but came up just short and lost by 10 pins.  The third squad also produced some excitement as Kevin Cruce, needing just a mark in the 10th frame of the last game; left a pocket split and denied him his first title.  Kevin finished in a tie with Don Furuya for second place.  Ben used his Storm Prodigy, drilled by Wes Flores of Extrrreme 300 Pro Shop, for his second title.

Ft. Shafter Lanes

The format for our next tournament will be the “Best 3 Out of 4”, a favorite of the tour, at Ft. Shafter Lanes.  Ben won his first title bowling in this format, Deja vu?  Ralph Collier had 5 no taps on Saturday and won $250.00, which leaves the tour’s 9 Tap Jackpot with $7,009.00.  The Progressive Pot is at $1445.00 and will give our next champion a sizable payday.    Bonuses for the 9 Tap Jackpot will also increase and that should add to the fun of 9 tap bowling.  Ft. Shafter will not be as difficult to enter onto the base but there will be some kind of a line, so allow yourself some lead time.
