Tournament Wrap Up
Welcome New and Old The 9 Tap Tour Hawaii welcomes home our old member, Jamie Nazario. Jaime has been on deployment this past year after joining the tour last year at Hickam, glad to have you back. Our tour also added 18 new members, who have taken advantage of our 40% Discount in joining the 9 Tap Tour in August and September. We have one more tournament for new members to take advantage of the savings. The Hawaii Region now has 264 members. Our Schofield Champion is John Hata, winning his first Tour Title with sheer determination. After posting an okay score in the second squad, John said to our staff, “Shoots, makes you want to bowl another squad”. Well, he did reenter the last squad, took a glance at the leader board and saw the second squad leader, Audie Saili, post a great score of 1053. But John was determined to bowl the last squad; put together two super scores, moved lanes and fell to pieces in his third game. Before starting his fourth game, he remarked “Déjà Vu! I do this to myself all the time.” Settling down, John then strung 9 strikes together and pulled the rug out from under Audie, beating him by two pins, 1055 to 1053, what gut. Audie Saili ended up in second place and Randy Kaea-Cook in third. Our Champion, John Hata used a Storm Nano bowling ball, drilled by Dan Maglangit of Strike’em Pro Shop, for his first title. John flies out Sunday for St. Louis, Missouri on temporary duty. Asked what he was going to do with his $1267 winnings, he remarked “trip on a River Boat Casino”. Good Luck John, hope you double your winnings. No one came close to winning our 9 Tap Jackpot, so the pot increases to $4092. The Tour takes a week off and will be back on September 24th at Hickam Bowling Center. |
