Bowlero Paradise
Sept. 21st, 2024

Total Paid Out: $11,351.00

Wrap Up

This Saturday the 9-Tap Tour went south to Paradise Lanes-Bowlero for a 3 game format, which 176 bowlers battled for the 36 spots on the Cash List. The scores were right on target for the most part with only 1 score over 800, but a nice cut line of 697

The Tour always takes pride in the balance and diversity of our Cash Lists.  This weekend was a perfect example of how High, Middle & Low averages; Ladies & Guys, as well as Seniors and other generations.  The Top-6 were made up of TWO bowlers who are original 2002 Members, TWO who joined a bit later in 2004, and TWO who joined in the last 2 years.  Pretty Unique!!

The gigantic 9-Tap Jackpot seems like is putting the pressure on the bowlers the last two weeks.  This week it looked like we were going to have a serious run as the Front-4 Taps was hit early.  A couple more Front-4 was hit later but no one could get into the 5th.  Jesse ShermanThang Duc ThaiJames Black, and Larry Hayden received $150.00 for the Front-4 Taps.  WATCH FOR THE WEDNESDAY NEWSLETTER ANNOUNCING that we're running a "Jackpot Special" to give out some of that HUGE sum of money in the Jackpot.

After bowling pretty good in an earlier squad, Greg Burdsall decided to re-enter and that was a great decision for him, winning his 4th 9-Tap Tour Championship shooting 810.  This is Greg's first title since 2021 when he won at Narrows Plaza, and his first 2 championships was at Cascade Lanes back in 2007.  Greg rolled his Roto-Grip Optimum Idol ball while wearing his Dexter C9 Shoes.  Greg said, he had been in this position before and had to roll a big game to get the championship.  Greg would like to thank fellow 9-Tap bowler and father-in-law Peter Novak for all of his support.  Greg won $2,350.00 for taking 1st place, not including, his winnings in the other pots for a wonderful payout.  Congratulations Greg!

The man that Greg chased down, Melvin Swagerty was looking for his first title since 2006.  Melvin set the goal after the 2nd squad, which looked like it might hold up with a score of 789.  Melvin's 1st championship was at Paradise 20 years.  His score got him a $1,050.00 check for his great shooting.

Earning 3rd place this week was Red Mateo with a score of 781.  Red was looking for his 2nd championship but one open frame thwarted that accomplishment.  Red earned a nice check of $555.00
