Bowlero Lynnwood
July 27th, 2024

Total Paid Out: $12,181.00

Wrap Up

Saturday the 9-Tap Tour had its most popular tournament format, our “Best 3 of 4”  at Bowlero-Lynnwood. The scoring was right-on-target as it usually is at Bowlero-Lynnwood, with THREE bowlers topping 800, falling right in line with the past B-L scores, just as we mentioned in Wednesday's Newsletter.  The 'Cut-Line' was also ideal at 717, which was the score that created a 3-Way Tie for the last spot, adding an extra spot on the Cash List.  Squads #1 and #2 were maxed out and we felt bad for the handful delayed by traffic, arriving too late get a spot.

A special THANKS to Ken & Staff at Bowlero Lynnwood...for a great event.   We did have feedback from some of our bowlers who had never been to B-L before, who said they were very impressed with the facility.

The 9-Tap Jackpot narrowly escaped going down!  Canada's Cesar Lim, who joined the Tour last March, had a 'GOLDEN SHOT' at the Jackpot that would have earned him $7,414.00 if he converted (see video). The 7-pin failed to stay standing costing him the Pot, but leaving him with the Front-6 for a nice $750.00 payday.  Then Susan Jimerson had a shot at the 7th Middle Tap worth $750.00 (see video), that is treated as a tie with Front-6, but unfortunately all 10 went down... so both derailed on Tap #7 by real strikes!

Richard Jones - Becomes our 8th 1st-Time Champion this year with an awesome 831 series.  He joined the Tour in April, but hadn't yet made the 'Cash List'... pretty nice when your first Prize Money Check is for $2,638.00!!  Richard used his Motive Crimson Jackal ball and wanted to give a special thanks to Derek Handy at Bowlero-Lynnwood for drilling his new ball.  Richard shot 3 strong games and thanks to the 'Best 3 of 4' format, got to toss out his 187 game.  In the process, he raised the bar for his Personal Best game & series.  Richard plans on using his winnings on upgraded shoes and bowling gear.  He wanted to thank his friend Al Ackley who bowled with him, for the great advice and cheering him on, as well as thanks to the rest of rooting section on Lanes 1 & 2.

2nd Edmond Nera - is also a relative newcomer to the Tour, who joined last March.  He also hit the Cash List for the First-Time Saturday with 3 strong games, while dropping a 150 thrown in his second game.  Earning the hefty $1,165.00 in 2nd Place money, for his 822 series, certainly made for a nice first check!!

3rd Andrey Williams - While only being on the Tour for 1 1/2 years, he was the most Veteran Tour bowler on the pedestal this week.  Andrey was chasing his first Tour Title, with his excellent 808 series.  He hit that total by throwing his third highest game since joining the Tour, in his final game (great way to finish!).  3rd was worth a nice $598.00 this week.
