Wrap Up

This week we took the 9-Tap Tour up north to Kenmore Lanes for a 3-Game tournament.  We would like to thank Dasha and her staff for the extra lanes, and the good service throughout the day.  The freeway closures, and the weather seemed like it kept some bowlers away, but we still set a new RECORD for entries at Kenmore with 166, beating the record we set back in April. Our Canadian friends came down again, and Walt Dalrymple made it from Moses Lake, and bowled in every squad after having a little accident on Snoqualmie Pass on the way over. Glad you are safe.

Scores were a little bit higher than we wanted, but that happens when the humidity is up.  We had 9 bowlers shoot over 800, including Stephanie Perrine who did it twice, and our cut line at 718, found 33 bowlers on the Cash List.

The 9-Tap Jackpot was threatened early and often throughout the day.  No one had the Golden Shot, but we saw several bowlers getting 6 out of 7 in the middle.  Sol Villena hit the Front-5 early on, and it held throughout the day.  Sol earned $375.00 for the accomplishment.  Next week's tournament will have a new RECORD for the 9-Tap Jackpot, sitting at $10,606.00, at Daffodil Lanes, where the Jackpot has been hit several times throughout the years.

This week's champion doesn't need much of an introduction, as Samson Ibale earned his 33rd career Championship with a score of 847, which included two 300 games scratch.  Samson had a rough time the 1st squad, he found the groove, and was locked in on his re-entry.  Thankfully, he doesn't get this locked in, as his last Singles title was back in November.  Samson wore his Dexter SS-9 shoes while rolling his Quantum bowling ball.  Samson collected $2,800.00 for his awesome shooting, plus his scratch pot wins put him well over $3,000.00 for the day.  Congratulations again, Samson!

Taking 2nd place this week, Chuck Hufford with a great 828.  Chuck was looking for his 8th title, and was one of the bowlers who hit 6 out of 7 9-Taps.  Chuck very rarely gets into the Progressive Pot, and it was the same this week, which means back-to-back weeks it will be over $3,000.00.  Chuck earned a $550.00 check for his great bowling.

3rd place this week was Don Moseng shot an awesome 825.  Don, who joined the Tour back in 2004, is still looking for his 1st title on the Tour.  Don received a $621.00 check for his efforts on the day.
