Saturday, the 9-Tap Tour made our first trip to Bowlero Lanes in Lakewood this year.  We would like to thank Bill and his staff for all of their hard work, and squeezing us in the last minute of their busy schedule.  With a 160 entries for the day, 32 made the cash list, which included 9 1,000 scores, and a near perfect cut line of 933, the scoring was in the Goldilocks zone.  The 160 bowlers marked the biggest 3-Squad tournament held at Bowlero in our 20 plus year history of the Tour. 

When the 9-Tap Jackpot gets as high as it is, we like to share the wealth with our bowlers by paying $10 for the first two 9-Taps of a game.  32 different bowlers accomplished this, with Adam Hamlet doing it 3 different times.  The Middle-7 was attempted once by All-Time Winnings Leader, Samson Ibale but he threw a perfect strike on the golden ball.  6 people reached the Front-3 to receive the $75 consolation prize, Charles Pangelinan, Marilyn Mateo, Kare Tong, Huyen Thai, Corey Brown, and Jonathan Fahlander. 

This week's champion scoring 1038, Marcus Simmons, just started on the Tour when we were at Daffodil a few weeks ago, referred by Andy Snow.  Andy was in the lead after the 2nd squad, and just sometimes you are beaten by your friend. Marcus used his Storm Proton Physix, drilled by Randy Macomber at Papas Pro Shop at Paradise Lanes.  Marcus was feeling calm at the beginning of the tournament, but he admitted to being nervous in that last game when he realized he had a chance of winning. Marcus plans on using his $1,100 winnings for a trip to Las Vegas and some new equipment.

 

Taking 2nd place this week, just missing her 6th title, Ashley Kochel shot a 1024.  Ashley who won two of her titles last year, has had prior success at Bowlero.  Ashley takes home a $963 check for her efforts. 

The aforementioned Andy Snow had the lead after the 2nd squad with a score of 1021, finished in 3rd place for the tournament. Andy won at Bowlero last year and almost repeated the feat this time around looking for his 8th title.  Andy received $519 for his great effort on the day.
