Once again, we would like to thank all the bowlers for wearing masks. Hopefully very soon we can return to normal, and stop wearing the masks. We had a very fine attendance of 144 bowlers over the weekend, but i am sure when the mask mandate is over many more will show up. Saturday was qualify by squad, with Sunday both squads were combined with scores from Saturday, taking the top 10 bowlers. All Sundays bowlers with 900 and above made it to the bracket finals. Scores varied from 901 to 1105. Our top qualifier and winner of a new STORM ball was Dustin Groh. After a long layoff from bowling, he got into that groove and fired off a nice 1105 series. The 9-Tap Jackpot winners were Will Twyman and Chuck Hufford with the front 4. Both receiving $100.00 for their effort. High Scratch Pot Series went to Dan Grass, $160.00, with Skip Shear, 2nd and $80, and Earl Kleist 3rd for $40.00. High Scratch Pot Game went to Skip Shear and Zac Clute, both with a 300 game and $120.00 each. Third place was Dan Grass with a 287 game and $40.00.   We had 29 bowlers making it into the finals. There were 5 byes for the first round of the two Monster finals. 24 bowlers started with 7 going out withthe lowest scores. The next round of 22, with the 5 byes included, again the 6 lowest scores going out. This leaves 16 bowlers left going into the step ladder finals. The bracket scores were very close with every matchup, some with one pin wins.

 

Our 2nd quarter CHAMPION is Ohnja Moore. What a GREAT story of determination!  Ohnja was a 'work-in-progress' over the last two weeks.  The 19 year old bowled poorly at our last Tourney, 2 weeks ago at Secoma, but rather than quit, he and his Dad (coach) went to work, practicing every day for those 2 weeks.  The hard work paid off, after sneaking into the last Qualifying spot on Saturday, you could see his continued improvement game-by-game on Sunday.  Using his Brunswick Wicked, he was wicked himself with his low game of 260 (w/hdcp) during the bracket Finals. With his win he takes home a really sweet check of $1,913.00, making the hard work all worthwhile.  Now there's a 3-way tie between John Jr (Dad), John III and Ohnja, each with ONE Tour Title. With Ohnja's awesome improvement, he may also set an All-Time record for the LARGEST handicap change in Tour history.  That record is a testament to his improvement!

 

2nd place when to Dan Grass, trying for his 5 title. His 1073 series during qualifying was second highest and got him the only 'at-large' bye this weekend.  Dan made the drive from his new home in Spokane for the 2QC... he certainly made it a worthwhile trip!  His 2nd place finish brought him a nice $875.00 payday.

Mike Miller was Hospitalized during the week, misses qualifying by one spot on Saturday and comes back to qualify on Sunday and makes a nice run in the Finals for a 3rd place finish, giving him a check of $366.00

 

Zac Clute was tryng for his first title, had a nice third place finish. He just was up against some bowlers who were on a very hot streak. Nice finish Zac, this got him a check of $366.00
