We would like to THANK everyone at Narrows Plaza for a very smooth running Tournament this weekend.  It was nice that we had some time for setup and check ins and prompt start times.  Narrows Plaza has consistently been a place where we see a perfect scoring range.  Looking back on the scoring at Narrows this year, the bowlers seem to be figuring out the conditions.  On the first two visits, we did have scoring well within our 'Ideal' range.  The last time in September, we saw the scoring increasing, with NINE 1000 series and a low to cash of 952.  Well you blew it out this weekend with a high of 1103, TEN 1000 series and a low to cash of 962.  We might be rethinking a tweak to the pattern for the next time.  We expected lots of 9-Taps to be strung Saturday and the bowlers didn't disappoint.  After 5-Taps lead the way early in the day, Scott Shaffer made a serious run at the Front-7 in squad #2.  When Scott shot for his 6th Tap, he threw it a little wide missing the head pin, but the 'Bowling Gods' were watching over him!  Like domino's, the pins started to fall leaving just the head pin.  Now Scott has his chance at the 'Golden Shot', ONE BALL for a $6,313.00 payday.  The ball must have weighed a ton, but it had a chance, hitting high and leaving him with a split that derailed the effort.  The Front-6 Taps, paid a sweet $500.00 to help soothe the wound of what could have been.  

Well this weekend's Champion sustained his 'Hot Streak' producing rare back to back Titles.  Matt McLaughlin, despite a 189 third game, came back with an awesome 264 final game to pull out the Win, shooting a whopping 1103 series.  After struggling for many months, Matt has certainly gotten dialed in, despite losing a total of 16 pins of handicap this week, he overcame that to still Win by a hefty 40 pin margin. Matt used his Motiv 'Affliction' to shatter several Personal Bests.  Last week Matt tossed his biggest single game on the Tour... this week he topped it in his 1st game, topped it AGAIN in his 2nd game, AND AGAIN in his 4th game!  WOW that's a feat!!  With his two BIG first place checks each over $2,200.00, he says he has not had time to figure out what he going to do with his Bonanza.  This weeks First Place bounty gets him another fine payday of $2,205.00.

2nd place brings in another hot bowler and 'Hall of Fame' Member Jon Schneider.  Finishing in first, twice in the last couple of months, Jon started out slow with a 190 game, but got lined up and shot a very big series of 1063, with the 3 biggest games in-a-row of his career.  That 190 game most likely kept him out of his 13th championship.  Nice shooting again Jon, keep it up.  This 2nd place finish gets Jon $741.00.  

After fighting a long bout of Covid, including being hospitalized, Joe Miller made a HUGE comeback this week to finish in 3rd place.  Taking the lead in the second squad with a fine 1042 series, his Personal Best series, Joe said he was very tired and quite out of breath at the end.  Way to hang in there Joe and nice shooting.  Joe takes home a nice check of $501.00 with his second Top 10 finish this year.  Watch out for Joe in the future, as his health is improving and his scores are improving too.
