This weekend we returned to the beautiful 40 Lane Bowlero Lynnwood.  The low turnout this week reinforces how badly the Tour needs to recruit more North-End Bowlers.  Although many bowlers didn't make the trip North, we did have one bowler who traveled all the way from Las Vegas.  Terry Sherman, was the very first winner of the 'Multi-Region' Tourney in Las Vegas in 2017. Terry was in town this weekend to bowl in his first Puget Sound event shooting a very nice 875 series, just missing the Cash List.  With the 9-Tap Jackpot at $7,331.00 and barely withstanding many 'attacks' the last few weeks, we fully expected the Pot to be assaulted again.  James Black was one of several, having an excellent chance of hitting the Middle 7-Taps, but he carried a real strike on his 5th shot. 

Michael Strothman started his game with the Front 5-Taps and with his fellow bowlers cheering, he flushed the next shot with a perfect strike.  His Front 5-Taps earned him this week's Consolation, taking home $250.00 for his effort.  The scores this weekend were right in the sweet spot all day with the exception of one freakishly big score.  Cash List scores ranged from a high of 1080 and a low to cash of 894, close to the ideal range that we shoot for.  There were many attempts to top the 1080, with plenty bowlers posting big scores for three games, but just fell short in the final game.  The scoring came down to two Hall-of Fame members who have competed and butted heads with each other since both joining the Tour in 2002.  The Top THREE finishers are each Tour Hall-of-Fame members. 

Our Champion this week is now a 12 time Winner and Hall-of-Fame member, Tong Nguyen.  Tong has been struggling the past few weeks, but came out firing with an unbelievable score of 1080 during the first squad.  He could be seen pacing all day long, with a giant target on his back, hoping the score would hold up.  It was nice to see Tong get it going again. This was just his second title since 2012.  Using his Hammer "PBA Offset", drilled by Pat Johns, he was very consistent in his set with games of 264, 266, 243, 243.  With his winnings of $1,739.00, he plans on using it to bowl more.  Look-Out 9-Tap Bowlers, Tong might be back!  He'd like to thank Zac Clute and Jon Schneider for cheering him on.  Asked if he had any comments on his win, Tong says, "I thought I was overdue, it was about time for the 'LEGEND' to strike again!"  This brings the Hall-of-Famer's career earnings to an impressive total of $61,838.00.

Second Place went to another Hall-of-Famer, Bob Rouse.  After seeing his rival, Tong on top of the leader board, Bob said he was taking him down.  This battle has been around since they both joined in 2002, with Bob trying for his 8th title. Bob had a very good chance to overtake the top spot, but fell short in his final game, finishing with the only other 1000 series of the day, a sweet 1004.  With his 2nd Place finish, Bob cashes-in with a nice check of $776.00.  This brings Bob's career earnings to a remarkable $43,434.00. 

Rounding out the Top 3, the 3rd Place finisher is another Hall-of-Famer, Cal Fisher.  Cal was recently our Top Qualifier at our 3rd Quarter Championship and this week shot his best series since, a very nice 983 series.  Cal is a 5-Time Champion and takes home $396.00 this time, pushing his career earnings up to $31,167.00.
