We returned to Bowlero Lanes in Lakewood, where we saw some excellent bowling. With SIX 1000 series shot, topped by a very nice 1031 and a perfect 'Cut-Line' at 920.  Squad time did not matter today as we had at least one 1000 series shot in each squad. The scores kept climbing during day and the leader board was never safe.  There were several attempts to knock off the Leader, but many fell through, thanks to a few bad breaks in bowlers 4th game (see below).  It really did come down to the last few frames of the day, before the Champion was decided.  It looks like we got the adjustment to the oil pattern 'juuust riiight, as the scores stayed in our 'Goldilocks Range' all day.  Our 'Hat's Off' to the Bowlero Team, who have clearly made great strides since taking over.  The lanes held up pretty well all day, other than some 3rd squad issues that mostly piled-up on one unlucky foursome of bowlers.  With the 9-Tap Jackpot at an attractive $7,364.00, we again had plenty of assaults on the Pot.  In the Final squad, Huyen Thai had just enough room to finish his game with the Middle-7 Taps.  Check out this video on how he got the final 9-Taps earning $500.00.

This week's Bowlero Champion is fairly new to the Tour, joining just 9 weeks ago.  Michelle Kornegay had yet to reach the Cash List prior to Saturday, but she stuck with it, making her first 'Cash' a BIG ONE!  Using her DV8 Diva, drilled by Scott Halverson at Paradise Bowl, Michelle says she just came to have fun & bowl, she really wasn't paying attention to her scores.  She said that she really enjoys bowling with her friends Shawn, Rabiah & Alex, adding a shout-out to Joseph Frank.  This might be the ticket to victory again in the future.  Not only was her 1031 series a Personal Best, her final two games were also the two Highest games Michelle has had on the Tour (224 & 251).  The Win also brought her a pretty sweet payday of $2,047.00.  Congratulations Michelle on your first Tour Title. 

Second place went to Joseph Frank III, who also set a Personal Best series for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, shooting an impressive 1022 in the 1pm squad.  Joining the Tour in June, his previous best finish was a Third place, just a few weeks ago, at Narrows Plaza. He looks like his game is improving and could be a force to deal with in the near future. With this great effort, Joseph cashes in at a hefty $919.00. 

Taking Third this weekend was Jay Pannette, who regularly comes up from Centralia to bowl.  Jay was the leader after the first squad with a very nice 1017 series. This is also Jay's highest finish on the Tour since joining last year before the Covid shutdown.  It's nice to see the new tour members getting used to the conditions and scoring well.  Jay takes home a really sweet 3rd Place check worth $469.00 this week.
