A warm and humid Saturday coupled with some air conditioning challenges made for quite the struggle for some bowlers at Pacific Lanes where our winner posted an early score and held on all day long.  Despite the warm conditions, we wound up with a super turnout as 131 entries made for 26 total Cashers and for the 3rd straight time at Pacific, our Cut-Line was under 900. 

It was early on when Oscar Gestoso as well as Joe Trinka had both missed their shots 

at the 'Middle 7' which (if they had they converted) would've taken huge chunks out of the Monster Jackpot.  With the Jackpot over $8k, we're paying all consolation ties in full so the 'Middle 7' and the 'Front 6' are worth $750.00.  We mention the 'Front 6' because Tour newcomer, Brandon Weaver DID hit the 'Front 6' and had a HUGE 7th shot which was for$6,436.00!  Click the photo to the right to see the shot! Prior to the Final Squad, we had four bowlers out on one pair of lanes, all wearing their retro Champion shirts so we took the opportunity to get this photo which (by the number of stars on the back) shows a whole bunch of titles...

This week's winner, Joe Trinka from Puyallup has been with the Tour for more than four years and prior to this week had cashed many times with 3rd Place being his best finish.  Joe posted an early 1028 and was one of only three to break 1000 all day!  The others to break 1000 were the Red Hot Dale Coleman who earned 2nd Place for $829.00 as he was chasing 4th Title and 3rd Place Oscar Gestoso who pocketed $454.00, had his best finish of 2018 and was after his 3rd Title.  

The second that Trinka walked in the building on Saturday, hepointed out to us that the day was special to him as it was the anniversary from the day he joined the Air Force in 1966.  Joe is a 71 year old Air Force retiree who is also retired as an Investment Advisor and is very well respected on Tour.  He was appreciative to Jimmy Smith who drilled his ball and said that the $1,822.00 will go towards his Ham Radio hobby along with doing some travel. As you can see from the photo, Trinka was speechless about his performance!  Congratulations Joe!
