 West Seattle Bowl is always an interesting Tour stop because we never know quite what to expect as far as bowler turnout, bowler performance as well as the traffic situation, etc...Saturday was no exception as turnout came up a hair short of 100 entries (97), performance was feast or famine and the traffic situation wasn't really much of a factor.
In the end, 19 bowlers made a 'Cash List' that ranged from -4 thru +46
  (hdcp) with the 'Cut Line' on target at 910. Two bowlers, Adrienne Summers & Mick Hodgebroke up a late in the day SEVEN-WAY tie for the 9-Tap Jackpot consolation, as each hit the front four taps for $100.00. Breaking up that tie was key in allowing the Jackpot to inch closer to the $8,000.00 mark as it is now just $118.00 shy! Also, Huyen Thai had a shot at the middle 7 early on on the day which was for $500.00. See his shot by clicking below.For the 2nd straight week, we had a bowler that put it all together and crushed the lanes with their personal best performance...The only difference this time was that all of the Top 3 found their 'ZONE' with BIG days. With his THIRD career 3rd Place finish, Mike Metcalf actually held the lead for a couple of hours as he fired a 985 series which, for awhile, looked like it was going to hold up. Mike earned $448.00 this time and is showing signs of full intent on winning a Title soon! Kai Pedro did pretty much everything within his control to earn his 2nd Title as he shot 300-218-276-265 (scratch) on his way to a 1047 series (keep in mind his handicap is -3). This is Kai's top performance to date in terms of earnings as he gets a check for $897.00 PLUS another $230.00 from the Scratch Pot. Great shooting, Kai!
Herbie Wilson now has his first TWO Titles in back to back entries as he and James Strand partnered up in Doubles to win at Bowlero Lanes a few weeks ago. This week, Herbie topped his personal best performance by 105 pins as he fired a 946 Scratch Series, which even without handicap would have placed him in 11th! Yes, the 'Cobra Kai' has struck again on the Tour and without getting too cheesey, many of you might recall 'Herbie' from the 1968 classic Disney film, 'The Love Bug'? Well, Herbie (established in '77) has grown up with that movie connection. Herbie had many personal thank you's starting with Alvin Koch for gifting him his 15-lb Storm 'Nano' drilled by Matt Surinafrom Daffodil Lanes. Herbie also passes his thanks to Alvin, Matt, Shane Thompson, Tara, James & Alyssa Strand, Osmond Green, Ron Campos and his wife, Keri who he plans to buy a nice gift for with his $2001.00 in earnings, which makes Herbie 2016's first $2,000+ check recipient. Congratulations, Herb!
