Pirates, Logbooms, Hydros and Blue Angels...Must mean that it's Seafair Weekend in The Great Northwest. Oh yeah, and it's Ken Griffey Jr. weekend as well for all the Mariners baseball fans out there! What started out as any other normal Saturday on The Tour was anything but as the all-time Tour 4-game scoring record was in serious jeopardy, 82-year old, Stu Gallagher hit 7-Straight Taps (again), three bowlers finished up the day by making heroic efforts at a MASSIVE comeback(s) while an one bowler, Hank Olson, just a month shy of his 80th birthday, traveled here from Alaska and bowled in three squads (12 games), proving age to be but just a number! The 9-Tap Jackpot had two bowlers with the front four taps, sharing the $100.00 consolation prize as the young lad, Andy Snow joined the party late along with the true Gentleman, Chuck Hufford, who completed the feat earlier in the day. Winning his 2nd Title after getting his 1st just about a month ago, Chris Andreula virtually could not miss! We went back andcounted and Chris had 36 total strikes in his four games! There are only 48 possible so it's safe to say that all of the practice that he's put in is really paying off! Not to mention the 20 pins of handicap he's lost since winning on July 9th at Roxbury Bowl! Oh yeah...the score! As was mentioned earlier, The Tour 4-game Series Record is 1216, bowled on wood lanes at Paradise Bowl back in 2008 (Jeff Scott). Andreula had a very legitimate shot at busting that record as his 1172 score included back to back open frames in the 5th & 6th frames of his final game. As was the case last month, Chris credited and thanked his wife, Darian who has been pushing him to practice "More than I have practiced in the past." Chris earned $1,908.00 this week using his DV8 'Freakshow' ball drilled by Dean Richards at Bowlero. Congratulations Chris! Going into the final squad the 2nd place score was a 999 by Dan Grass, who finished 4th, but the eventual 5th Place finisher, Kenny Tameno was on pace to at least give Andreula a scare only to be derailed by an 'off' final game. Then there was Bob Berryman and Pearl Sedeno, who both really caught fire late in the day to finish 2nd & 3rd. Bob's 1034 series was good for a 2nd Place check for $858.00 while Pearl, who is fast approaching the '$20,000.00 Club' for Career Earnings was just one pin behind Bob with a 1033 for $432.00. Congrats also to Will Twyman for earning his first Tour check and a heads up, Jon Schneider, you are now just $599.00 shy of the '$30,000.00 Club'! If ever there was a time for those putting off getting their approved shirts done, we have made it easier than ever next week! Our Embroidery supplier (Dotty) will be at HiLine Lanes next week, to take orders directly. For our Tour Members, Dotty gives great prices and will handle special requests when she can.
