Skyway Park Bowl - Renton, WA
August 22nd, 2015
Total Paid Out: $7,384.00
As the Summer winds down, The Tour continues on as we returned toSkyway Park Bowl Saturday where scores were ideal and in that 'Target Range' despite our thinking they would be a little lower based upon on previous results at SPB. We made no changes to the oil pattern from our recent (previous) visits, therefore we bow down and credit the skill of the bowlers for the nice scoring! As was expected, there were plenty of legitimate assaults at the 9-Tap Jackpot, both from the beginning and the middle of the games. Ruong SaTang wound up with the Jackpot Consolation of $250.00 for hitting the front 5 taps. Ruong didn't stop there as he had the 'Golden Shot' at the 'Middle-7' on the final shot, in his final game of the day. Even though he slightly pulled the shot left of the headpin to miss the $500.00 prize, his day was anything but disappointing as you'll see... Worthy of noting this week as that it isn't out of the norm for bothRaymond and Pearl Sedeno to be bowling on the 9-Tap Tour at the same time. What's sort of odd is that while Mr. Sedeno was bowling in the 6:30Squad at Skyway, Mrs.Sedeno was bowling some 2,680 miles (give or take) away at Pali Lanes in our Hawaii 9-Tap Tour Region. At last report, Pearl was holding on to 2nd Place so we'll find out how she fared in the next day or so. Many of our Bowlers may have noticed a slightly 'New' look when they checked in this week as the Tour unveiled its new and 'highly anticipated' table covers. Here is a look for those who haven't seen them yet... Samson Ibale, the Tour's All-Time leading money winner shot the best scratch series of the day (1011) and had a chance at pulling out the Title with one more BIG game. Although he came up short in his final game, Samson took 3rd Place and earned $470.00 to add to his lofty Career Totals (52,247.00). Not bad! Rafael Jandusay had a GREAT day! All he did was fire a 1043 series but was ONE PIN short of his 3rd Career Title. Perhaps Rafael is breaking out of a bit of a slump over the last year or so as some of you will recall 2013 when he got HOT and won 2 Titles in a 3 week span. Sharing the exact same handicap as this week's winner and with four very solid games, it was unfortunate for Jandusay that he couldn't find ONE MORE PIN in one of those games! The 2nd Place finish did earn him a nice $910.00 check, nice shooting Mr. Jandusay! What a BIG DAY for Ruong Sa Tang! Not only did he take the 9-Tap Consolation, he also (By ONE PIN) fended off Rafael by firing a Personal Best (by 45 pins) 1044series to take his 1st Career Title which is also The Tour's 14th 1st-Time Champ of 2015. The$2,025.00 check he earned is the first $2,000.00+winner since May but the 12th $2,000.00+ Winner of the year. Since rejoining the Tour this year after a few years away having originally joined in 2012, Ruong has come very close with a 2nd at Bowlero Lanes and a 3rd at Roxbury Bowl. Now with a Win, Place and Show he completes the Trifecta! Ruong used his Storm "he referred to it as plastic" ball drilled by Pat Johns at HiLine Lanes and said that he credits his Brother-in-law, ThangDuc Thai for cheering him on Saturday. With his winning check, Ruong said that he will "Buy Stuff" for his wife, My Thai Loan and son, Yurith. Great bowling and Conratulations Ruong! |
