Daffodil Bowl - Puyallup, WA
February 21st, 2015

Total Paid Out: $8,884.00

Wrap Up
December 12th, 2009 was the last time we were able to present Tour 'Life' Member, Mike Ducay as Champion when he claimed his 4th Title in the 2009 Year-End Tournament at Narrows Plaza Bowl.  Saturday atDaffodil Bowl, Mike abruptly ended his 5-year Title drought by putting together three MONSTER games with an 865 series, earning his 5th Title and the coveted 'Retro' Champions Jersey with 5 Gold Stars.  Although rotator cuff surgery had slowed him down over the past few years, Mike has never given up on himself and he's been heating up lately with a 5th Place finish just last week at Pacific Lanes.  Mike is the only Tour Member with TWO Tour Titles from Acme Bowl, where we haven't been since 2009 when he won there.  Interestingly, Mike almost wasn't able to make it to bowl Saturday due to the "Nasty" traffic on the freeway where he nearly exited to turn around and go home and just as he approached the exit, traffic loosened a little and he decided at the last second to give it a go!  Nice choice, Mr. Ducay!  Mike used hisHammer 'Assassin' ball drilled by Ed Dolfay at Skyway Park Bowl and wanted to thank his cheering section Rollie & Maribel Abella for their rooting him on to victory.  When asked what his plans were for his$2,061.00 winner's check, Mike said that he has "No specific plans but will share it with his Grandkids!"  As a result of this week, the septuagenarian's career earnings boosted to an impressive $23,911.00.  Congratulation's, Mike!
Brandon Lovely Wins Storm'Tropical Breeze' Ball

9-Tap Tour visits to Daffodil Bowl have recently been accompanied by Bowling Clinics instructed by Matt Surina.  This week was no differentas Matt provided his expert guidance to 10 of our Members.  His tips must have been GREAT as FOUR of them made their way to the Cash List.  Brandon Lovely, with an 830 series, ultimately finished in 8th place and was the Top Scorer from those who participated in the Clinic.  In doing so, Brandon earned a Storm 'Tropical Breeze' ball from Surina's Pro Shop.

116 Bowlers ~ 148 Entries ~ 30 Cashers

148 Entries, 116 Bowlers (65 in the 2nd Squad) & 30 making the Cash List are all high water marks for this year.  As predicted, scores were on the high side with an amazing 12 Bowlers reaching the 800 mark.  Finishing on the podium with Mr. Ducay with a Super 845 series wasAndy Victorio who matched his wife Vicki's 3rd Place finish at SecomaLanes a few weeks back with a 3rd Place of his own as well as a $512.00 pay day.  In 2nd Place, with 3 pins more than Andy was HerbieWilson.  Herbie, who joined the Tour two years ago, was chasing his first Title and fired what looked like a Winning 848 in the 2:30 Squad but was topped late in the day by Ducay's 5:00 Squad gem. Herbie bowls at Daffodil on Wednesday nights and has been on fire lately...he shattered his personal best Game & Series and this was his Best Tour Finish which was accompanied with a $924.00 pay day!

Leemoui Makes Run at Jackpot

Michael Leemoui

In the Final Squad, during his first game, Michael Leemoui made a Super run at the 9-Tap Jackpot!  He threw the front four 9-taps, in the 5th frame everyone thought he had his 5th straight but a late falling 10-pin derailed his bid, falling mere seconds before the rack came down.  Leemoui went on to throw four more 9-taps followed by three more real strikes in the 10th frame for a 300 game ~ XXXXXXXXXXXX ~ .  Michael was rewarded with this week's 9-Tap consolation of $100.00 for hitting the front 4.  The 9-Tap Jackpot creeped back above the $7,000.00 mark to $7,265.00 as the Progressive Pot also grew and will be at$2,364.00 for next week at Skyway Park Bowl.  HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!
