Secoma Lanes - Federal Way, WA
April 5th, 2014
Total Paid Out: $8,777.00
Mike and his team at Secoma Bowl again delivered a Great Saturday for the Tour as superb bowling and another impressive turnout of 145 Entries made for an exciting day! After this week's payout of $8,777.00, the Tour has now paid out over $110,000.00 this year alone! Three bowlers topped the 1,000 pin mark this week, including the 2013 Rookie of the Year Nikkie Blase, who shot an impressive 1011 which earned her 2nd Place and$898.00. This was a slump breaker of sorts for Nikki as it was her best finish since January when she finished 4th (with partner Donna Columbo) in our Doubles Tournament at Bowlero Lanes. Also shooting over 1,000with a nice 1001 was 2-time Champ Mark Hitchcock. Mark is nearing$10,000.00 in career earnings as he now sits at $9,049.00. Also for Mark, this is his 4th appearance of 2014 in the Top 10...ALL FOUR WERE 3rd PLACE!!! How's that for consistency? Nice bowling, Mark! Another mentionable highlight for the day was Bruce Gorr getting 9-Taps in 7 of his first 8 frames. Unfortunately for Bruce, his missed Tap (an 8-count) came in the 4th frame. Kudos also go out to David Kim & Derek Handy for shooting 9-Tap Perfect 300 games! Earl Kleist & Pam Sims both hit the front 4 Taps to take the 9-Tap Jackpot consolation this week which netted them $50.00 each. Additonally, Lori Clark was on hand to receive her$500.00 from hitting the front 6 9-Taps last week at West Seattle Bowl. The 9-Tap Jackpot now increases to$4,627.00 for our next Tournament. The Progressive Pot also made a nice increase to $2,417.00 as the Tour returns to Imperial Lanes in two weeks. (Details below)REMEMBER! Next week (April 12th) is a BYE week.
The Newest 9-Tap Tour Title Holder who shot his personal best by 52-pinsis none other than Isaac Joseph! Entering in the 2nd Squad, Isaac mentioned to Steve that he felt good and said that he liked bowling at Secoma, hoped that he'd do well, but was a little worried about adjusting to the shot as he had some difficulty last time. After some confidence building and bowling alongside his good friend, Dale Coleman, he went on to shootthe high score of the day with a 1056. Joseph joined the Tour WAY back in in November of 2002 (the same day that Earl Kleist joined). After a 10-year hiatus, he re-joined the Tour in January of 2013. This is also his 3rd Top 10 since last November. Isaac, who mostly bowls on Monday nights at Kent Bowl had his Storm 'Virtual Gravity' drilled by "Norm" at Bowlero Lanes. When discussing how he felt while he was bowling as he knew he was shooting so well, he said that he was "Excited and nervous but tried really hard to focus on my mark while following through." Additionally, he added that "It felt strange while other bowlers were watching." Isaac works at Harbor View Medical Center, enjoys golf and watching his son play sports at Bonney Lake High School. When asked if he had plans for spending his winnings, Joseph said that he wanted to pay off some bills and also take his family on a trip to Ocean Shores. Congratulations to Isaac on your First Title, Way to go!!!
