rend over the past several weeks has been anywhere from 5-8 bowlers sharing the Jackpot consolation with 3-taps and this week was no different through the first two squads.  In the 3rd Squad, however Dale Coleman hit the first 5 Taps, then had a real strike in the 6th frame.  Dale was looking good to take home the consolation this week, that is until the very next game when L.C. Cofield became the center of attention as he calmly and quietly hit the front 6 Taps to took the lead.  This got everyone's attention as L.C. stepped up and finished the job, hitting his 7th in a row for the Jackpot and $1,960.00!!!  This is the 7th time the Jackpot has been hit in the last 15 months.  Well done, Mr. Cofield!!!  (see video below)

 

 

This week's runner up is Ganny Angeles, who joined the Tour back in 2011 and was going for his 3rd Title.  Ganny posted a nice 987, taking home $1,052.00 and is now over $8.000.00 in career earnings.  Incidently, one of Ganny's titles was the annual Dad's Day Doubles last year and we hope to see him on hand at Kent Bowl next week (Details below) to defend his title.  Dane Clement was this week's 3rd Place bowler, shooting a 982 and taking home $551.00.  Dane joined the Tour 14 months ago and this is his best finish and 5th Career Top 10.

 

It was in the Early Squad at Noon where Brenda Robinson, one of our recent Champions from April at Skyway Park Bowl was presented with her Champion's Shirt.  Shirt presentations are a normal occurence right before a Squad begins but this one turned out to be a little different.  Brenda could not bowl this week but fortunately, was there to cheer on her husband, Rob Robinson.  Rob forgot his glasses but does not usually need them to bowl, he does need them to read, however...forgetting the glasses might have worked in his favor as he couldn't see the scores on his recap sheet.  Rob knew he was bowling well but didn't figure that he was in contention because it was so early in the day.  Turns out that Rob posted a1,034, the only score over 1,000 for the day and a personal best by 35 pins with a 999 being his previous best.  As it was early in the day, Rob didn't seem very confident that his score would hold up through the final 3 Squads but was on hand in the end and agreed that bowling 'early' really paid off for him, even though the waiting and uncertainty was kind of stressful.   The Robinson's both joined the Tour back in 2012  Rob is on a Hot Streak with this being his third straight Top 10, also finishing 9th in his last two Tournaments.  He used his Storm 'Tropic' ball that he had drilled at Paradise Bowl where he and Brenda usually bowl.  When asked what his plans were for his $2,381.00 check, Rob simply said he had "No plans for it at this time".  He also gave his thanks to Brenda for cheering him on and said "Today must have been my day, I just got lucky".

 

Rob is the Tour's 14th First Time Champ of the year!
