After our annual two week Summer Break, The Tour returned to Narrows Plaza Bowl Saturday on what turned out to be the hottest day so far this year.  With the temperature flirting with 90 degrees outside, there were 113 Entries with 23 Bowlers making their way to the Cash List. The scores were right on average ranging from the 726 cut line to 828 for the always popular 'Best 3 out of 4' Format.  The Final Squad provided a very exciting momentas Joe Fincher Jr. made a run at his first perfect 300 game, hitting the first ten 'Real' strikes in his 2nd game but his 11th shot was slightly light missing the mark.  In addition, Joe finished in 10th Place for the day and is now over the$10,000.00 mark in career earnings.  Great run, Joe!  Also nearing the $10,000.00 Club and now just $400.00 shy is Jerry Hendrickson who incredibly is just over two years as a Member having joined back in January of 2012.  Jerry finished in 3rd Place this week by shooting a very nice 792 and takes home $497.00. Chris Andreula, who joined the Tour this last February, was going for his 1st Title and shot his TWO biggest games on Tour finishing in 2nd Place which is his highest finish so far and earned him a nice check of $970.00.  The 9-Tap Jackpot was not really threatened this week but Sue Packmanand Alfredo Oriza both hit the front 4 Taps for a consolation of $50.00each.  The 9-Tap Jackpot climbed over the $2,000.00 mark for the first time in awhile and now sits at $2,151.00 while with this week's winner in for just $10.00, the Progressive Pot for next week is at a WHOPPING$2,617.00 when the Tour returns to West Seattle Bowl on July 19th.

 

When Jon Schneider left Narrows, he knew that he had posted a great score of 828 in the 2nd Squad but was not optomistic that it would hold up after the Final Squad.  When I (Steve) called Jon to inform him that he had won, he was still calling Colorama but answered the phone and said "Are you kidding me?  You don't know how excited I am!".  With his 2nd win of the year and his 7th Career Title, Jon, who has bowled in nearly every Tournament since 2006 (8 years), earned $1,588.00 and now has$24,385.00 in Career Earnings.  Schneider said "I am so pleased, (I have no words!!!)".  He wanted to thank the group that he bowled with which included Alfredo Oriza, Larry Tibbetts & Bob Matlock saying, "They were great to bowl with, really mellow".  Jon also wanted to thank "Narrows Plaza Bowl, the 9-Tap Crew and most of all, the (9-Tap Tour's) Members".  Jon further stated "I still believe that this is the best and fairest tournament anywhere".  Finally, John wanted to wish his daughter (Jessica) a Happy Birthday.  Great bowling and Congrats, Jon!!!
