Roxbury Lanes - Seattle, WA
July 13th, 2013
Total Paid Out: $6,552.00
What a SPECTACULAR week! Despite a lighter than expected turnout, the Tournament had plenty of action. We had a huge number of BIG individual games turned in, but only a handful put together 3 or 4 BIG games into an XL series. The Cut-Line of 931 was a little higher than usual. But it was the Ladies who went WILD Saturday, making it TWO Tournaments in-a-row. TheLadies didn't just settle for taking 3 of the Top 4 spots this week... Rose LeMaster also hit the 7-Middle Taps on the first day it returned to the 9-Tap Jackpot lineup. Rose snuck-up on the 7-Taps, and her $500.00bounty, without anyone being aware of it and we didn't even get a video of her feat! The Jackpot still managed to remain above 4K ($4,047.00) for next week at Daffodil.
A VERY excited Rose LeMaster ANNIHILATED the competition by 96 pins, for her first Career Title since joining the Tour in 2009. Rose had been in a 'dry spell' for a while, building up the maximum 5 bonus pins. It turned out that she didn't even need the Bonus Pins and she actually got so hot, that she could have won with 35% less handicap than she had. Talk about finding yourself in that famous "Zone". In the second squad, Rose SHATTERED her Personal Best series by a large margin, wiping-out the scores from her previous best finishes of 3rd & 5th Place. The two biggest scratch games Rose had ever thrown on the Tour were a 230 & a 246. Saturday, after starting with a near best 241, Rose followed that game with a MASSIVE 285. In that game, she hit the 7-Middle Taps, but was still upset at having missed on her 11th shot... she really wanted her first 300 (no-tap) game. Rose had been bowling less frequently lately, while close friend and bowling partner Mac Brown was in Memphis acting as the primary caregiver for his brother Eldgen. With Eldgen there to watch, and Mac bowling, Rose got into that 'GROOVE' we all dream of. Rose credits Gary MacDonald for tips he gave her on hitting the headpin more consistently. The Hammer Arson that she used was another Pat John's (HiLine) produced ball. The $1,857.00she earned for the win & the $500.00 from the Jackpot, will come in handy to pay herself back for the money she just spent on a trip to Cancun. Rose also plays golf and helps out with Youth Bowlers. CONGRATS Rose on Win #1!!
The SCALDING HOT, over the last few Tourneys, Adrienne Summers, continued her streak with an excellent 1023 series. She also had one of those BIG games, throwing a scratch 260 in her final game. Her $833.00 for 2nd Place, is a nice addition to her recent successes. Osmond Green broke up the ladies attempt for a clean sweep by capturing 3rd Place. The two-time Champion's$461.00 earned on Saturday, moved his Career Earnings very close to joining the $15,000.00 Club. In 4th Place, our favorite Yakima OCTOGENARIAN Judy Buchanan held the lead after the 1st Squad, after shooting her 2nd Best ever series.
