We had been expecting a slightly lighter than normal turnout due to the Fair... but the lower numbers didn't diminish the competition or the ideal scoring Saturday.  We were also unsure of how Narrows' new type of oil might effect the scoring.  In the end, the scores were right in the 'target range' with a nice Cut-Line at 921.  There were another 11 bowlers who were very close, shooting between 900 - 920.  We saw LOTS of BIG games all day, but not too many big series, with only two bowlers topping 1000.  We also saw a large number of 9-Taps, but no one put any really long strings together, resulting in SEVEN Members (N.Allison-B.Moore-D.Slaughter-Nguyen-Ibale-T.Strand-B.Gorr) sharing the9-Tap Jackpot Consolation ($25ea) for just the Front 3-Taps.  That again allows the Jackpot to grow, now reaching an even$5,700.00 for next week at HiLine.

 

Dale Coleman Wins his 3rd Career Title shooting four solid games, without needing any giant games (high game 267) to accomplish the feat.  He's now earned one Title in 3 of the last 4years, 2010, 2012 & 2013.  The $1,834.00payday pushes him close to the $10,000 Club, with $9,234.00 in Career earnings.  Dale said that the cash would come in handy, since he needs to get his clutch fixed on his car.  He was also excited that his wife of 34 years, Lynette, was there to share in the Victory.  Dale said that although Lynette often accompanies him to the Tournaments, she unfortunately missed his first two wins.  When he was asked about the secret of his big series, he said the he, "Just felt like he was in that ZONE", like so many other Champions have said before.  When he shot the 1035 series in the 2nd squad, it looked very reachable.  It turned out to be just enough, when Samson Ibale came up just 4 pins short in the 4:30squad.  For this Win, Dale used an AMF Xtreme Orbit, drilled for him several years ago by Fred Mattson at the Narrows Plaza Pro Shop.  Dale has worked for St.Francis Hospital, in Federal Way, for 25 years.  CONGRATS Dale for Win #3 & the White Champions shirt that goes with it.

 

Samson Ibale is one of the original Tour bowlers, with Member #11, and he nearly broke out of his 2 year Win drought.  He needed to shoot nearly 300 to pull out this Win and he almost did it.  His dramatic final game 294 (290) left him just 4 pins short of another Title.  BUT... the $820.00 earned, boosts his AMAZING Career Earnings to $42,069.00!!!  That earnings total still leaves him at #2, just behind Tong, who also hasn't Won a Title this year either.  In 3rd Place, Yoshio Padilla had his best finish since joining the Tour in February, with a very nice 994 series.  Zero in the Pro Pot limited his earnings, but he was still extremely excited just to 'break through' with his big series.
