Imperial Lanes - Seattle, WA
May 18th, 2013
Total Paid Out: $6,168.00
A busy weekend of activities, along with Tournaments in Reno, Portland and Puyallup accounted for some of our missing bowlersSaturday, resulting in a disappointing turnout at Imperial. But, that didn't dampen the excitement in the least, for another first-time Champion. In an ODD twist, the Ladies had a BIG day... oneweek after Mom's Day, capturing 6 of the Top 11 spots. The Oddest twist was that they took, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th & 11th, all ODD. Karen Woldt finished in 9th Place and was the only bowler to string 4-Taps to earn $100 from the 9-Tap Jackpot. Lots of bowlers cracked 900 this week, boosting the Cut-Line to 940, while only three topped 1000. Next week, at Secoma, will be our traditional Memorial Day weekend Tournament, with$1,000.00 Added-Money from sponsors South Tacoma Honda, Miller Lite Beer & 9-Tap Tour.
Adrienne Summers captured her first Tour Title with two incredible finishing games. After starting with only a 159 game, she made a HUGE comeback, nearly throwing her first 300 game in her third game. Adrienne and husband Phil joined the Tour in 2011. She's had a couple of 5th Place finishes since joining and has had steady improvement this year as she's worked to improve her game. Both her final games of 263 & 256 (scratch) shattered her Personal Best's and her enormous 1061series wasted her previous best. Friend, Steve Hickam, has been helping her with her game and was on hand to watch her put it all together this week. She used a Storm Nano, drilled by Bill Hoskins at the Right Angle Pro Shop. The $2,048.00 she took home for the Win will come in handy, when Family that she hasn't seen in years, come to town next month. Adrienne and Phil bowl at Acme on Mondays and work at their auto body shop. CONGRATS Adrienne on Win #1!!
Ajay Jarata also had two strong finishing games to post a solid 1025, which was good enough to hold the lead until Adrienne got so hot. 22 year old Ajay, joined the Tour as an 18 year old and has now pushed his impressive Career Earnings to $12,019.00, with the $904.00 he earned for 2nd Place. Divina Novelo had her best series (1013) and highest finish to date, taking 3rd Place and a nice $480.00 payday.
