HiLine Bowl - Burien, WA
July 27th, 2013

Total Paid Out: $6,838.00

Wrap Up
The weather Saturday was Hot outside, nice and Cool inside, but inside is where we also had all the HOT bowlers.  SIX bowlers topped 1000, with five of them shooting what would often be winning scores (1030+).  We had feedback from bowlers in all 4 squads, that the conditions were perfect for lots of BIG scores and long strings of Taps.  Sure enough, all four squads contributed to the Cash List, with the Biggest scores coming from squad #1, but the most Cashers came from squad #4.  We also had several nice strings of Taps, with Curt Sanborn (squad #1) & Gary Woldt(squad #4) both coming close to 7-Middle Taps, but Cecil Abay-Abay (squad #3) took the Jackpot Consolation of $250.00 with his Front 5-Taps.  The 9-Tap Jackpot grew to $4,539.00 for next week at Narrows Plaza, where we'll also have our first 'Senior Day' Side Pot.  The Tour will start that Pot by adding $150.00and all 50+ bowlers are eligible to enter the High Handicap Game Pot for $5.

HiLine's "Early Bird" Champion is Paul Mann, earning his 4th Career Title (1 Doubles & 3 Singles) and first one in 2013.  Paul makes the trip from Port Orchard each week, but concerns about all the freeway construction projects motivated him to leave early, just to be safe.  Naturally, Paul and his Mom didn't run into any slowdowns, so they were already at HiLine before we even arrived to set-up.  Proving that the "Early Bird Catches the Worm", Paul put together 4 consistently strong games, in the noon squad, for an Awesome 1078 series.  Paul obviously likes HiLine Bowl, since ALL THREE of his Singles Titles have been earned there, spread out over 4 years.  Paul's has already had an impressive Career on the Tour.  His $1,990.00 in earnings this week, push his Career Prize Money total to $9,562.00, but if you add in the 9-Tap Jackpot that he hit in 2009, for another $4,757.00, that would put him close to the $15,000.00 Earnings mark.  Paul bowled with good friend James McKelvey who also shot well with a 1002 (6th).  Paul asked us to thank his Mom (Angie), along with James Mom (Katherine) & Grandma, for being there to cheer them both on.  The winning ball was not 'The Bird' or 'The Worm', but a Hammer Absolute Curve, drilled by Nick Blair at HiJoy Bowl in Port Orchard.  CONGRATS Paul for earning the GOLD Champion's Shirt for #4.

Coming up just FIVE PINS short of his first Tour Title, a HOTJohn Schelegle topped his best finish (3rd) last week, with a 2nd Place this week.  John's fine 1073 series, in the 2:00 squad, added a healthy $896.00 to his wallet, but he sure would have liked that one extra mark.  Joe Fincher finished with his best game of the day, shooting a strong 1063, which was a higher total than his last Title in 2012.  It was only good enough for 3rd Place this week, but a respectable $458.00 in earnings.  Matias Oriza 1054, Saimen Ma 1034 & James McKelvey 1002 turned in this weekend's other four digit series.
