HiLine Lanes - Burien , WA
March 3rd, 2012
Total Paid Out: $8,755.00
Tournament Wrap Up As usual, Hiline Lanes provided the 9-Tap Tour with a very playable shot. Only 4 scores over 1000 with a 915 cut score to cash. Our CHAMPION reached the Lucky 13 win in his career and for the first time in our history, the last 4 tournaments has seen our 'last place to cash position' finish in a tie. Only one person was able to put it together to make a run at the 9-Tap Jackpot with 5 in a row. Next tournament at Secoma will see both a bigger Progressive and Jackpot. CONGRATULATIONS to Samson Ibale on his 13th careerwin on the 9-Tap Tour. This week’s winnings of $2202.00 brings his career winnings to over $37,000.00. Samson started his day bowling the second squad. He was using his Brunswick ‘Quantum’, which he had drilled by Ed Dolfey, at Skyway. His four game total managed to lead the pack by a mere one pin. Samson 1025 was enough to take the lead away from second place finisher Rod Koskie. So…Samson, you just won your 13th Title and $2202.00, what are you going to do now? “I’m going on a 5 week vacation to the Philippines.” Samson, have a great time. We will see you when you get back. This was Samson’s first Singles Title since 2010. He now owns 11 Singles and 2 Doubles titles. Well done! In 2nd Place was Rod Koskie. Rod started his day with a beautiful 300, thrown in his first game of the first squad to finish with a first round lead of 1024. Rod’s 2nd place finish allowed him to take home a real nice $740.00, for a day well spent. Rod and his wife Lydia used to be regular bowling Members of the Tour; however, due to job relocation, they have not been able to bowl much with us. Rod and Lydia will be relocating to Wenatchee, so this money will come in very handing for some of the moving expenses. Good luck and best wishes on the move, and don’t be strangers. In 3rd Place was Rollie Abella, who had a great chance to take the lead away from Samson in the 3rd squad, but up popped thatinfamous 10th Frame. I think we can all relate. Needless to say, Rollie finished with a nice 1008 to take home $540.00. Still a nice finish for the day. Of course, close on Rollie’s heels wasMholee Divina who finished in 4th Place with a nice 1003. He too got that visit by that infamous 10th Frame. This week, only one person was able to break into the 9-Tap Jackpot. CONGRATULATIONS to Gina Jason for getting thefront (5) 9-Taps, earning her a nice $375.00. Thought she was going to get the 6th one but that old pesky 10 pin continued to stand, after getting hit, along with the 5 pin. Well, as we said at the beginning, we have established a NewRecord. We now have four weeks in a row that we have seen a tie in the last cash position. This of course was the first time that this tie caused us to pay out 2 additional positions. These 2 additional payouts caused our cash payouts to be a little lower than normal, in order to accommodate the additional positions. Reminder; next week is a Bye for the 9-Tap Tour. We will be back on March 17th at Secoma. Hope to see you there. And for those of you with higher book averages and are interested, there is an Elite Tournament this coming Sunday at Roxbury. |
