Here we are after yet another great Sunday of bowling.  Jerry and his crew were once again great all day and keep us on time with no breakdowns. 

It was great to see all of you that could make it.  After all, here in Vegas we have at least 2 to 3 other tournaments each week in the area.    

We are getting closer to taking on a partner for the tour and we will still be fully involved, just not in person as much as we would love to be.  For a while we must move away for personal reasons, some know why, and some don’t.  But our hearts are with you all and want to keep this tour rolling as strong as possible for you all to keep enjoying each week we possibly can. 

With that being said let’s get onto the fun of this last Sunday.  

9-Tap Jackpot Takes a Hit! 

We not only had the Progressive Pot take a small hit again, but the 9-Tap Jackpot that has been holding strong took a hit this weekend.  We had a new member sign up and thought about what side pots he should enter.  As some let him know, it’s worth the extra $$$ because you never know what could happen. 

He took those words, got into both side pots, and made his way to the lanes with his dad by his side.  Not only did he manage to conquer the front 4 No taps to knock out the leader.    He managed to get 3 more lucky hits on the Brooklyn side to knock out the back 9 pin to leave the 3-pin standing for the full front 7 No Tap strikes in a row.  Congratulations, to Durrell Purdy, for your outstanding run and making it to take down the Highest Jackpot so far in the Las Vegas region.  Durrell managed to takea growing jackpot that only had the highest front 4 taken out of it for some time.  

The 9-Tap Jackpot was at an all-time high sitting at a nice $2727.00 and 80% of it came out to an outstanding $2182.00 for Durrell to take home. Leaving the Jackpot at $801.00 for The Orleans on Aug 18th.  

Once again, we had some outstanding bowling happen this last Sunday with a low to cash at 701 going up to 808 for the high of the day.  Scoring was close all day with only 2 800’s hit all day.  Along with HDCP still being so Diverse from a very low of 0 and up to a high of 53 making the cash list once again. 

Our winner this week Joined way back in Aug of 2023 at our Opener over at Gold Coast.  He ended his day in the 3rd squad rolling the high of the day with an 808.  He has tried many times to repeat his first Championship but held out to almost exactly one year later.  Congratulations, Kevin Nurmi on becoming a 2-time Champion with us and winning your Red shirt.  Kevin shows up almost every week and bowls at least 2 squads if not all 3 when we have them.  Kevin’s friend Joey Cazar told him about our tournament.  Since then, we all have become friends with everyone and joking  each time they all come in.  When he came into Sunset, Kevin checked in, laced up his Dexter SST8 shoes, and cleaned his equipment.  His ball of choice this week in the last squad was his EARTH BALL (Plastic).  He loves to bowl and rolls on the Storm Fil-Am over at The Orleans.
