Sunset Strike Zone
March 3rd, 2024
Total Paid Out: $4,188.00
All fun and games @ Sunset Always first and foremost, Thank you Jerry and your crew at Sunset Station Strike Zone, for another outstanding day and turnout. Sunday was a great and busy day for us. We once again had another great turn out for the Las Vegas 9-Tap Tour. With 52 first time entries, 24 re-entries this week with only 3 comps gave us a nice 96% for entries. Our side pots are growing again, as the 9-Tap Jackpot is holding strong and has now jumped to $2072.00. 3 members, Terry Sherman, John Garland Jr., and Ann McGee held on for a tie and received $25 each this week. Our Progressive pot is becoming more popular, taking a small hit and is now at $1209.00 for our next tournament. Our scores were dead on for the day having a low to cash at a nice 689, staying close to the top score of 808. The biggest jump in series was only 26 pins otherwise the field was very tight to the end. We are currently working on getting sponsors in line for the upcoming quarterly and our Multi-Region tournaments. Onto this week’s winner and now classified as a 2-time champion of the 9-Tap Tour, came to visit us once again while in Vegas for the USBC Nationals tournament at Southpoint. He joined the tour in the Puget Sound Region, also winning his first title just 2 weeks ago up in Washington State. He has now rolled in 8 total tournaments here with us in the Las Vegas Region. Congratulations, goes out to Jordan Heil, on earning your Red shirt with the tour and your 2nd title in 3 weeks. Jordan has been on a hot streak lately, winning the Seattle area 2 weeks ago, almost winning back-to-back in the Evergreen State. Placing 2nd, the following week, then coming to Vegas for USBC National’s and becoming the newly crowned Champion at Sunset Station Strike Zone. He put out a funny message on our Facebook page with a GIF, saying "I like to win!” Lacing up his bowling shoes, Using his purple hammer, drilled out of Randy Macomber’s shop. Jordan came out on a roll in the very first squad fresh from the airport, rolling 808 series and low game of 220. He rolled in all 3 squads, having his lowest series in the second squad of a 713. Almost outdoing himself in the 3rd but fell just short with an 803. Jordan currently bowls in three leagues, Mondays on the RC sport league at Paradise Lanes (now Bowlero), Thursday Commercial league at Secoma Lanes, and Friday Night Outcasts at Daffodil Lanes. His plans for his winnings this week are adding it to his bowling and travel fund. His fiancé Taylor Valentine was cheering him on like always. Jordan has been working for Patriot Fire in Washington for the last 6 yrs. He has a special thank you for not only his friends, but ours on the RC sport league Michael Kennedy, Randy Macomber, and Payden Stumpf for helping him progress his game and mental game and attitude. Not much more to say as Jordan puts it “BOWLING IS LIFE!” Next up is our 2nd place finisher, Congrats Jerome Davis Jr. He only joined the tour a couple weeks ago on 2/18/24 and placed 10th at Sam’s Town. Jerome had a great chance to catch Jordan with only 13 pins HDCP. He just fell short by 26 pins of Jordan, great rolling Jerome way to not let anything get to you. Your win is coming Jerome, hang in there. Jerome is a pleasure to have with us smiling and enjoying himself. Our 3rd place winner is surely no stranger to the tour, he has been with us since Nov. 2015 having won 6 titles and multiple cash list appearances with winnings totaling just over $10,700 since joining the tour. Greg Mamac loves coming out having fun trying for the 9-Tap Jackpot, and always smiling. Greg fell short of Jerome Davis by just 2 pins at Sunset Station this last Sunday. Way to bowl Greg! |
