Sam's Town
April 14th, 2024
Total Paid Out: $4,192.00
Another fun time at Sam’s Town We hope everyone enjoyed the little intermission. Tom and his crew did an outstanding job keeping us going all day without delay. Once again, we had a nice turnout and laughs with everyone. Scores were right where they should be for a 4 game. The 9 Tap Jackpot held up this week but not without some excitement, once again that 3rd frame plays a roll. Front 2 no taps, with a baby split in the 3rd frame then continued with the next 4 no taps. We had 2 members hit the front 4 to hold up and split the $100 prize, congrats Norris Montague and Markus Corsame. The 9-Tap Jackpot increased to $930.00 and our Progressive pot is up to $1158.00 for next weekend at Sunset Station. We have had some outstanding rolling by everyone, with HDCP’s ranging from 6 pins up to 41 make our cash list once again. The diversity is just amazing with all the bowlers around the area. Like we let everyone know, it’s not your HDCP that will help you win, it’s how you feel for the day and positivity that will make things happen. The low to cash this week started out in the first squad being a 911 then progressed into the final squads to 928 being the low to cash. This week’s top spot was a battle between members having a shot of who was going to hold strong and keep the shot rolling. We are crowning a new first time Champion again this week, he was so ecstatic that he was shaking with excitement from how good he rolled on Sunday. He has only rolled in 2 tournaments with us! His first time with us, the first game was nice, but he fell off and didn’t shoot well. This time around he was on a roll didn’t matter where he laid his ball on the lane. Everything was falling his way. Congratulations, goes out to Craig Dopson for your outstanding rolling Sunday at Sam’s Town. Craig strolled into Sam’s Town on Sunday, tightening up his Dexter SST8’s using his Storm IQ 78 and got ready to roll. His ball was made ready by Andrew Svoren over at the Southwest bowling supply. Craig bowls over at Gold Coast on the Tuesday mixer league. He let us know his best finish before today was making 7th place but didn’t say where. His biggest fan cheering him on is his sister Jaime Foster. Craig works as a floor supervisor at Resort world and Mandalay Bay. He plans on having a birthday celebration next month with his winnings. Sounds like Craig kind of did what we let all know, he gave himself a point of what he might need to average for a solid finish. He says he used an Abralon 500 sanding pad to prepare for Sunday. Craig’s other hobbies are playing Poker, and is big into Billiards, but also enjoys swing and ballroom dancing. Craig also had some very nice words for us as well, “Thank you Nick and Elaine for running a Challenging Tournament.” Thank you, Craig, all the kind words we receive makes doing this for everyone so special. Our 2nd place finisher is no stranger to the tour as he is one of our floor directors helping us when needed. Congrats, Jason Trevino withall your improvement being on our cash list 6 times now and fighting through the struggle. This is now his best finish with us, we see your win coming. Keep up the good work. 3rd place this week isn’t a stranger to the tour either. His wife has been a part of the tour since 2016. According to the records we have this is his best finish with us since August when we brought the tour back. Congratulations, Darryl Purdy on your outstanding 3rd place finish on Sunday. We love having your family with us, smiling and having fun. |
