Sam's Town
Feb. 17th, 2024
Total Paid Out: $4,315.00
What a day at Sam’s Town! We had a great time yesterday at Sam’s Town, a Huge shout out to Tom and his crew for an outstanding job! We had visitors from the Hawaii region, Directors David and Frances along with their Daughter and son in law are in town this month. Both will be with us next Saturday as well to roll again. Yesterday shows how this tour is going as we had a great turnout and low re-entries, along with 13 new members once again signing up. 74 entries to only 19 re-entries are outstanding numbers for the day. Our scores were right on track, with a low to cash sitting at 713 up to a nice 814. The HDCP’s are still a nice diversity from 0 and up to 46 making the cash list. We crowned another first-time champion, just joining the tour in Nov. 2023. Congratulations goes out to Raymond Allen! He rolled an outstanding 811 which put him in first place after the second squad but came back and beat his own score in the third squad by 3 pins, ending with an 814. He laced up his shoes, wiped off his ball, and got ready to roll using his Storm Phaze II drilled by our friends at Haynes Bowling Supply. Raymond bowls Thursdays at The Orleans on the Fil-Am league. He told us if he can hide his winnings from his wife, he would like to get a new bowling bag and probably take her on a few date nights. (Hope she doesn’t read the email blast Raymond, lol). He had his bowling family and some teammates cheering him on. Raymond was nervous about losing his brackets, we think more he was nervous overall the way he was rolling. He says our tour is fun and the shot is tricky to figure out. His other hobbies are playing basketball and doing photography. Raymond has been with the Army for the last 14 years doing IT. Our 2nd place winner is no stranger to tournaments and enjoys rolling in ours. James “Bill” Munger, Sr. joined the tour back in November 2023 at our Veteran’s day tournament at the Pahrump Nugget. Bill has been very close to the cash list each tournament and was just out of first by only 5 pins this week with an 809. Rolling into 3rd this week is a tour veteran who joined in Nov 2015 and has only had one first place finish back in Feb. of 2016. Ken James rolled a nice 781 to stay in 3rd by 5 pins. He has placed in the cash list quite a bit from what records we have. Your win is coming Ken, keep up the great rolling. Our pots have grown again now having the Progessive Pot raised to a nice $1050.00. Along with the 9-Tap Jackpot grew to a nice $1681.00. We did have one outstanding game rolled yesterday by a Veteran tour member also a floor director Mr. Terry Sherman rolled a nice 300 way to go! Let's keep up the pace! |
